Cultivating creative thinking and perceiving new skills Abstract:


"You can't expect your business to be a 21st-century success story if you persist in using 19th-century techniques to run it. A fundamental re-think is needed. In the age of Web 2.0 and wikinomics, managers must modernise or die." - Gary Hamel. Complexity of new trends and continuous change in the economy is daunting. Human being has been on a continuous growth path and discoveries of new concept have been very well accepted in various organizations. But still there are concepts that have been wrongly interpreted and applied and caused failure of right concept. In knowledge economy neither there can be a fixed strategy, a right concept, a right idea, nor right implementation and right result there of. It is very important for an idea to make sense to a concept and it is equally important for a manager to be able to validate and integrate the idea in his organizations framework. Through this research we would want to focus on developing business creativity, collaborative leadership and innovation through arts-based training, coaching and research-based consulting since we know that knowledge economy would demand skills in critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and innovation.
