Many of the GO-PCC events are made possible by the membership donations and support of our GOPCC Members. The GO-PCC website located at www.greateroklahomapcc.org lists our members who support our PCC. (Gold members have links to their websites.)
The 4th Annual GO-PCC Car, Truck, & Bike Show was held on July 9, 2011. It was one HOT car show! We had hoped for no rain and were rewarded with clear skies and 110 degree heat. Needless to say, the misting tent stayed busy since shade was at a premium. Overall, we had 113 vehicles and lots of spectators. Considering the heat, this was a well attended car show. The car show is one of our larger membership events and we gained 85 new GO-PCC members which is a 19.6% increase. The GO-PCC Executive Board would like to thank everyone who volunteered to help at the car show. Job well done!
Looking for greater control over who receives your shipments? Adult Signature is now available from the Postal Service. This extra service provides a method for customers to obtain a signature at delivery from an adult recipient who is 21 years of age or older. The option is available for commercial and online customers who use Express Mail, Priority Mail, Critical Mail, Parcel Select barcoded nonpresort and Parcel Select Regional Ground for their shipping. There are two variations of Adult Signature: Adult Signature Required. This requires the signature of a recipient 21 years of age or older upon delivery. The cost is $4.75 per piece. Adult Signature Restricted Delivery. This requires the signature of the addressee (or agent with written authorization) only, who must be 21 years of age or older upon delivery. The cost is $4.95 per piece. Additional details can be found at usps.com/shipping/adultsignature.htm.
More than 1 million iPhone, iPod touch and iPad customers have downloaded the Postal Service mobile application. The USPS App is available free from the App Store on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad or at itunes.com/appstore. For more information, to usps.com/mobile/info.htm
Building on the simplicity of flat-rate shipping and the value of Forever postage, the Postal Service has introduced a shipping option that lets customers lock in postage at current prices, when using Prepaid Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging. Designed to make it easier to do business with the Postal Service, Prepaid Forever Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging is the only prepaid packaging option currently available in the domestic shipping market. With Prepaid Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging, customers now have the convenience of prepayment, establishing an even simpler way to ship, said Gary Reblin, vice president, Domestic Products. It takes the overall value of flat-rate shipping to a new level. Prepaid Forever Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging is available for online ordering in packs of 3, 5, 10 or 25 at various retail price points. Delivery Confirmation service is included at no extra charge, and additional services, such as Signature Confirmation and insurance, are available when packages are shipped at retail locations. Prepaid Forever Priority Mail Flat Rate packaging includes an address label with Forever postage, so there are no labels to print. And with Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping, theres no extra cost for packages weighing up to 70 pounds, no hidden fees or surcharges, and the packaging is environmentally friendly, Reblin added.
