For evaluation:

• I thought Max, particularly, showed good characterisation through his posture and
facial expressions
• . I was told I showed “good characterisation
• DIRECT ADDRESS- something I struggle with as I can’t focus properly if I can’t see
who I’m acting to
• Looking at other peoples, I liked Ria’s facial expressions and the minor details she
included- like a ring her relative had- which added to the emotional impact because it
made it seem more personal.
• This was effective because it mirrored the thoughts of relatives swirling around their
head, none of which are very clear
• Looking at other groups, I thought that both Sian and Ian had a good rapport with the
audience and showed this by direct address and eye contact with diverse audience
members
• This was effective in showing how even though they are opposing sides, the parent
and child are feeling the same set of emotions
• .MUSIC /MOVEMENT PIECE As a whole group this was both fun, but difficult to
weave in and out each other without tripping or falling, whilst remaining in character
• I learned a lot from this bit and saw how people leave their families due to the family
itself sometimes and how just being excluded can make them want to go
• This was effective as usually the parent has some inclination as to why they went
away, but doesn’t want to admit it, so they play oblivious
• This wasn’t a particularly capable group I worked with, which was very frustrating, but
the ideas I used suited each of them in different ways and it went well
