Experiment

1. Cut a piece of paper to the length of 24cm and 16cm write down the ratio.
2. Cut the rectangle in half like this. Repeat again and again each time recording its
ration in simplest form.
3. Explain your results in full sentences.

1 = 3:2
2= 4:3
3 = 3:2
4 = 4:3
5 = 4:3

Results:

Every second time you cut the paper in half the ratio was 4:3. The width of the last one
becomes the length of the new one.

What will happen if you start with a length of 16 and a width of 16?
