    Salvation Army Mobile Canteen Ministry

    We need your hands & hearts now!

    Close to a thousand people go to sleep hungry every night in our community. Yet, The Salvation Army Canteen Tidewater Area Commands mobile soup truck - sits in a parking lot because there arent enough hands to help distribute the meals available. We need your hands and your hearts. If your church, business, or other organization can commit one day a week, you can help us in winning the fight against hunger. We provide the vehicle, the food and locations to serve the hungryall we need is your support.

    Steps to become a volunteer for the Mobile Canteen Ministry


    1. Contact Norfolk or Chesapeakes Health & Human Services Dept. to obtain a Food Handlers Card. 2. Round up a team of 12 volunteers to man the Canteen a day of the week (3 volunteers x 4 weeks =12 volunteers) 3. Select a day out of the week you would like to adopt the Mobile Canteen. 4.
