Mathematical Proof of Tachyons

This equation is known as the energy-momentum relationship, where E is energy, p is momentum, c is the speed of light, and m is the mass of the particle. This equation is used to calculate the total energy of a particle, where E is energy, m is mass, c is the speed of light, and v is the velocity of the particle.

As you can see, if the velocity of a particle were ever to exceed the speed of light, the resulting square root of the difference would be an imaginary number. However, energy cannot be imaginary, so we must take further steps to eliminate the imaginary number. Knowing that c is a constant, there is only one other variable that can cancel out the imaginary denominator, mass. Let s define mass as . Substitute this back into the energy of a particle equation, and you eventually end up with This equation, accurately describes the physical existence of tachyons. Note, that as there speed approaches infinity, there energy approaches zero.
