Abstract
Psychological Loneliness among the Saudi Adolescents.

The purpose of this study is to develop and implement a scale of


Psychological Loneliness to a sample of Saudi adolescents. Also, this research aims at
revealing the significant differences, if any, among the subjects of the study in their
loneliness feelings whish could be attributed do different educational stages, gender
and geographical regions. A 46-item scale was implemented to 2660 adolescents in 36
secondary and intermediate schools. It was found that the male students differ
significantly in their feelings of loneliness from the female adolescents. Also , the
results revealed that female adolescents in Riyadh differ significantly from their
female peers in Makkah and Dammam in their loneliness feelings. In the light of the
study findings, the researchers formulated some recommendations and suggestions.
