VeriFone ISD Software Release Notes

Attention
NOTE: CITPAK 5.10 is now PA-DSS certified by PCI/SSC for Ruby-Only and Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz configurations. It is required that you print or download the latest copy of PA-DSS Implementation Guide from the VeriFone Portal > Connect > Petro Downloads > Ruby > CITPAK. Also, you MUST review the guide with the merchant and leave a copy with the merchant. NOTE: This is a major release. It is very IMPORTANT that you carefully read the entire document before attempting the software installation.

*************************** Installation Change ******************

The 12-Shift report install option has been removed from Ruby-only installations. The 12-Shift report option is only available for Ruby/Sapphire sites.

This version requires re-imaging the HPV-20 with the latest version provided. If proceeded without re-imaging HPV-20, the installation may have unpredictable results. The latest versions can be found in the Minimum Requirements section and the Important Information section. NOTE: If the Cashier Tracking Report is used at a Sapphire site, the Cashier Tracking Overlay v1.00.01 is required on the HPV-20. This is not required for Ruby-Only sites. Also, SMS must be installed in custom mode which has the option Allow configuration under Sapphire Report Navigator (SRN). If this is not chosen during installation, then the Report Preferences option in SRN will be greyed out. As a result, SRN generates an incorrect Cashier Tracking Report.

******************************************************************** GSD Introduction

GSD is an acronym for the Gemstone Software Distribution. This process defines specific application-independent upgrades to the Sapphire and Topaz XL and is part of the application software. There is no separate download. The first version of GSD is 2.0 and applies to the first applications that support Topaz XL. However, there are changes to Sapphire and Topaz that occur at the same time and are interdependent. This means that GSD software is available for sites that are Ruby/Sapphire only and do not support Topaz (in any form). The following occurs at installation or upgrade:

The upgrade or installation process changes for Sapphire and Topaz.

CITPAK 5.10.04 Production

VeriFone ISD Software Release Notes

If a site installs application software that includes GSD v2.0 and, for some reason, finds it necessary to downgrade, there are specific steps that must be followed to downgrade the firmware, diagnostic kernel, and the OS on the Sapphire and Topaz. Any VASC needing to downgrade from GSD to a version that does not include GSD must call the VeriFone Technical Support Center to be guided through the process.

The following determines if the application has GSD software:

Beginning July 1, 2008, a column will be added to the Lab delivery Schedule. Release Notes will begin to include the GSD version on the front page in the versions section.

As new GSD versions become available, additional information will be provided to the VeriFone Technical Support Center regarding any new issues with installation and/or revert processes.

Receipts
The Topaz will always print masked account numbers and will no longer print the expiration date on inside receipts for all card types. Previously, this was configurable.

RESOLUTIONS
Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz Car Wash
Previously, car wash plu promotions were allowed for DCR cash acceptor transactions. This was corrected and now they are not allowed.

Dispenser Card Readers

1. Previously on Secure PumpPAY and Dresser/Wayne DCRs, when one DCR transaction was in progress and swiping a card incorrectly three times on another DCR, caused the swiped DCR display did not return to the idle prompt. This was corrected. 2. Previously, partial SPP/Dresser Wayne messages were displayed while the DCR was being authorized for fueling. This was corrected. 3. Previously, when a fast credit prepay fleet card transaction was cancelled using [Pump #] [STOP] then a subsequent fast credit prepay fleet transaction on the same pump reported the fleet data from the previous transaction. This was corrected. 4. Previously, postpay transactions initiated at the DCR were approved with the incorrect limit. This was corrected. 5. Previously, if fallback was enabled at the DCR and the authorization limit was less than the fallback limit, the POS terminal approved the transaction, however, the pump shutoff amount was set to the DCR limit in the credit card configuration. This was corrected and now the fallback limit is used. 6. Previously, a potential bootfix would occur on the Ruby terminal when loading the Dresser/Wayne graphic logo on the DCRs. This was corrected.

Network
1. Previously, when the last transaction in a batch was a prepaid card, the batch was out-of-balance. This was corrected. 2. Previously, when a prepaid activation or recharge transaction failed, the reports displayed the transaction as valid. This was corrected. 3. Previously, the collects for CITGO fleet refund transaction in fallback mode were not sent to the network. This was corrected. 4. Previously, the fallback limit for CITGO fleet card refund transactions was set to $200 by default. However, the CITGO fleet card fallback limit was sent in the PDL for the refund transactions. This was corrected and the limit in the PDL will be used. 5. Previously, the receipt displayed the 3-digit Julian date followed by three zeros for the authorization number for CITGO fleet refund transactions approved by the POS in fallback mode. This was corrected and now the 3-digit Julian date followed by the 3-digit fallback sequence number displays on the receipt. 6. Previously, the auth_src was not set to 'T' for sale transactions approved locally in fallback mode. This was corrected. 7. Previously, a new sequence number was not generated for the Approval Code when a sale transaction was approved locally in fallback mode. This was corrected. 8. Previously, the DCR limit for the MasterCard Fleet with the BIN range, 556700 through 556999, was not being updated when the PDL was received. This was corrected. 9. Previously, some BIN ranges were hard-coded for VISA Fleet which resulted in the rejection of valid VISA cards. This was corrected. 10. Previously, the hot pump parameter was enabled by default for all card types. This was changed and now it is disabled by default. 11. Previously, the Batch Summary Report displayed incorrect HOST totals when there were more than 10 batches per day. This was corrected.

Upgrade Summary
New Installation Required
Both Sapphire and non-Sapphire sites must use a full new installation to upgrade to CITPAK 5.10.04.

Onsite New Installation Upgrades

Both Sapphire and non-Sapphire onsite new installation upgrades begin with the same steps for Saving Sales Data and Ruby Settings.

Ruby Only Onsite Installation Upgrade Gemstall

There is one onsite upgrade procedure for sites without Sapphire. This procedure uses files that may be extracted from CITPAK_V5_10_04_Ruby_Production_Software.exe, which are then Gemstalled using Rel.vfg (see Warning below), and may be used to upgrade from all CITPAK versions. The steps for the Onsite Upgrade Procedure For Ruby-Only Sites are outlined after instructions for Savings Sales Data and Ruby Settings.

Sapphire Site Installation

Overview
Sapphire installation uses files from CITPAK_V5_10_04_Suite_Production_CD.exe, which, when extracted, provides the GemPro files for Gemstalling; folders with files for installing both NewPro and Topaz from a CD; and a folder containing the files to install Sapphire Management Suite. See Sapphire Installation CD Preparation.

GemPro
After extracting the files, use the GemPro Installation for Sapphire Sites procedure to install Sapphire GemPro.

NewPro
After preparing the CD, use the NewPro Installation for Sapphire Sites procedure, which uses a CD-ROM and HPV-20, to install NewPro.

VeriFone ISD Software Release Notes

Topaz Workstation Installation

Topaz workstations are upgraded from the same CD containing the Sapphire installation: CITPAK_V5_10_04_Suite_Production_CD.exe. Topaz installation follows Sapphire installation. See Topaz Workstation Installation.

SMS
See SMS Installation for Sapphire Sites.

Sapphire GemPro Board Upgrade To CPU-6

The Sapphire Site Controller GemPro board software must be upgraded from CPU-5 to CPU-6 if it has not already been upgraded. This software upgrade enhancing the operating system is accomplished as the first step in Gemstalling the Sapphire, and the process also converts the CPU-5 Ruby Card to a CPU-6 Ruby Card. Only the software is upgraded. The hardware remains the same. NOTE: Failing to perform this procedure correctly could damage your system. This software upgrade is for Sapphire or Sapphire/Topaz sites only. It is NOT for Ruby-only sites. Documentation on the CPU-6 upgrade may be found on the VeriFone Premier Web Connection at Petro Downloads > Sapphire > Sapphire and SMS: Other Documentation > Installation Guide in the PDF file CPU-6 Installation for Sapphire Base 160. WARNING:There are now two.vfg upgrade files. If you are upgrading on a Sapphire-equipped site, you must use Relsapp.vfg both to Gemstall the application on the Sapphire Site Controller GemPro board and to Gemstall the application on all Ruby terminals. If you are upgrading on a non-Sapphire site, you must use Rel.vfg to Gemstall. Use of the wrong file for your site will prevent the upgrade from completing.

Questions?
If you have any questions while upgrading, the VeriFone Technical Support Center is available for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 888-777-3536.

Saving Sales Data and Ruby Settings

Saving Data

Using Ruby Manager, perform a complete system backup.

Onsite Upgrade Procedure For Ruby-Only Sites

After completing the steps of Saving Sales Data and Ruby Settings by using Ruby Manager to back up all sales data and Ruby configuration settings, continue here to upgrade Ruby software at sites without Sapphire. Note that this procedure uses files extracted to C:\GEMSTALL\CITPAK\V5_10_04\Ruby, which are then Gemstalled using Rel.vfg. 1. If HPV-20 is installed, remove Ruby Cards from all Ruby terminals 2. Connect the PC COM port through a null modem adapter and an RS-232 cable to the controller Ruby terminals COM 1 port. 3. Place the controller Ruby terminal into SYSMGR mode by pressing and holding (with a ballpoint pen point or paperclip) the forwardmost button on the card holder on the right side of the terminal. 4. Once the terminal is in SYSMGR mode, start Gemstall on your PC and: a. Go to the C:\GEMSTALL directory noted above and open the Rel.vfg file.

17

CITPAK 5.10.04 Production

VeriFone ISD Software Release Notes

b. Run the Edit function to set the terminal specific requirements such as the correct printer, keyboard, and terminal type for the terminal you are upgrading. c. Run the Install function. NOTE: Gemstall version 2.52 or higher, compatible with USB ports and all Windows versions through Windows XP, should be used at a Baud rate of 57600 if the laptop supports it. The latest Gemstall version is available on the VeriFone Premier Web Portal at Petro Downloads > PC Based Applications > Gemstall. 5. Replace any Ruby Card removed and reboot the controller Ruby terminal. NOTE: If an update of your operating system is required, the Ruby terminal prompts for confirmation and automatically updates the system. The system then reboots the Ruby terminal as necessary. When the update has been completed successfully, the system reboots, and the updated version displays. 6. Using Ruby Manager, restore all sales data and Ruby settings except for settings in Fuel Manager. The Fuel Manager settings must be manually restored using the printouts that you made earlier in Saving Sales And Settings Data. (Note that you may want to save the printouts for future reference.) 7. If you have a workstation Ruby terminal, remove any Ruby Card, connect the workstation Ruby to the PC for Gemstalling, and place the workstation Ruby terminal into SYSMGR mode by pressing and holding (with a ballpoint pen point or paperclip) the forwardmost button on the card holder on the right side of the terminal. 8. Once the workstation terminal is in SYSMGR mode, run Gemstall. a. Open the Rel.vfg file for the version being installed. b. Run the Edit function to set the terminal specific requirements such as the correct printer, keyboard, and terminal type for the terminal you are upgrading. c. Run the Install function. 9. When prompted, replace any Ruby Card and reboot the workstation Ruby terminal. NOTE: If an update of your operating system is required, the Ruby terminal prompts for confirmation and automatically updates the system. The system then reboots the Ruby terminal as necessary. When the update has been completed successfully, the system reboots, and the updated version displays. 10. If there are other workstation Ruby terminals on the site, repeat steps 7, 8, and 9 for every other workstation.

Topaz Installation for Sapphire/Topaz Sites

After installing Sapphire NewPro software, you will be prompted Do you have a Topaz? Key y, and you will be told to switch the RS-232 cable connected to the installers laptop to the CONSOLE port on the right side of the first of any Topaz workstations to be loaded. NOTE: During Topaz installation, when the choice of 1. Complete Installation and 2. Custom Installation appears, you must choose 1. Complete Installation. Do NOT choose option 2 unless instructed to do so by the VeriFone Help Desk. A Custom Installation may not complete properly. Note that the first workstation loaded must be given the number of Topaz terminals on site. Thus if there are four Topaz workstations to be loaded with the upgraded software, the first to be upgraded would be given the designation of Terminal 4. The second upgraded would be given the designation of Terminal 3. The third, Terminal 2. And finally the fourth, Terminal 1. This is to insure that the terminals receive correct IP addresses. Proceed with the Topaz installation using HyperTerminal. NOTE: Topaz hardware and software installation instructions may be found on the VeriFone Premier Web Connection at Petro Downloads > Topaz > Topaz: Other Documentation.

SMS Installation for Sapphire Sites

1. Insert a CD containing the folder SMS v1.09.08 for CITPAK 5.10.04 in the CD drive of the PC that is going to run SMS. 2. Open the SMS folder and double-click on setup.exe.

Important Information
A Note On Version Numbers
CITPAK 5.10.04 may be either a Ruby-only application (with or without HPV-20), a Sapphire suite with SMS, or a Sapphire/Topaz suite with SMS. For Sapphire sites, the Sapphire GemPro takes the same version number of CITPAK 5.10.04, which is also the version number of the Sapphire NewPro/Topaz suite. The Sapphire Management Suite version is 1.07.06. NOTE: Only the GemPro, NewPro, Topaz, and SMS versions supplied as part of the CITPAK 5.10.04 software suite may be used. Other versions of these software suite elements MUST NOT be substituted. They will not work.

Parameters. Dresser/Wayne and Gilbarco sites must enter the value 1 when configuring this parameter.

Bennett DCTs Support Standard POP Configuration

Bennett DCTs with Horizon 1 (firmware v6.27) or Horizon 2 (firmware v2.15) dispensers now support POP Discount with Standard Configuration only. To support POP Discount, the dispensers must be equipped with a Bennett 515 interface box (firmware v5.07).

Dresser/Wayne sites equipped with HyperPIB 54000 or higher may use the Standard Configuration for POP Discount. Sites without HyperPIB 54000 or higher must use the Alternate Configuration for POP Discount. Note that if the Standard Configuration is used, and if dual cash/credit pricing is enabled, the POP Discount will be given on both cash and credit sales. (all bases)

Gilbarco Sites May Use Cash/Credit With POP And With Single PPU Window Dispensers
Gilbarco sites may now use both cash/credit price while POP Discounts are in effect. In addition, these sites may use the cash/credit and POP combination even though they have dispensers with a single PPU window. WARNING:Your local Weights and Measures department may or may not allow cash/credit pricing with single PPU window dispensers. VeriFone accepts no liability if this feature is enabled.

Gilbarco Sites Must Set PAM Jumper

POP Fueling Limit

POP Discounts awarded for purchasing specified PLUs or departments, such as car washes, may now be limited by cutting off fueling in a POP-eligible transaction at a pre-configured dollar amount. Only the fuel purchase, and not any other merchandise or service, such as a car wash, counts towards the dollar fueling limit. NOTE: Topaz workstations do not support the POP Fueling Limit. The POP Fueling Limit is supported by Ruby terminals at Ruby-only and Sapphire sites.

POP Membership Requirement

POP Discounts have been enhanced to allow a site to require that customers wanting any available POP Discount must use a Membership Card. This option is available for any site set up in the Basic+Membership mode. It can be used to restrict any of the five non-Membership discount types for the benefit of those presenting Membership Cards only. Setting the new parameter Membership Card Required? to Y when setting up any of the 10 possible POP Discount transactions in Manager > POP Transaction File will mean that a Membership Card must be presented to receive a POP Discount under a Transaction Definition calling for:

Purchase of a specific PLU Use of a specific MOP Use of a specific credit card Purchase of at least a minimum amount Purchase of at least a minimum amount from a department

Standard Configuration: 10 Prices Per Fuel Grade

POP Discount sites using the Standard Configuration may now set up to 10 price definitions for each grade of fuel offered for a POP Discount. Previously, only two price definitions could be set up for each grade of fuel.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz In Release Notes

Release Note categories such as New Features, Enhancements, and Resolutions are separated into such sections as Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz; Sapphire; and Topaz. For instance, a New Feature designated Ruby/ Sapphire/Topaz would apply to Ruby sites, Sapphire sites, and Sapphire sites with Topaz and/or Ruby workstations; while a New Feature designated Topaz would apply only to sites with Topaz workstations.

Secondary Network for Mannatec or CFN Cards

The Ruby applications secondary network card interface has been upgraded to Secondary Network Protocol version 2.0 from version 1.0. Sites using secondary network Fleet cards with Secondary Network Protocol version 1.0 must get their ACU (Authorization Control Unit) upgraded by the secondary network provider to version 2.0 for the Ruby terminal to interface properly with the secondary network and the VeriFone Tranz 380 terminal. Note that a site may elect to accept only one secondary network card: Either Mannatec or CFN. NOTE: FUELMAN/GASCARD card transactions are now made within the CITPAK application and do not need a secondary network. NOTE: When the Proprietary card interface with ACU version 2.0 is connected through a MUX (port MUtipleXer), the MUX must be reconfigured to allow both numeric and non-numeric values, both of which are necessary for interfacing with version 2.0. Switch number 7 of switch banks SWA and SWB must both be set to ON in the configuration. See VASC Field Service Bulletins No. 0206-003 and 0207-002 for details on reconfiguring the MUX.

V950TM PC Replacing Dell PC

Overview
HPV-20 sites may now be equipped with the VeriFone V950 PC, which is a replacement for the Dell PC. The operation of the V950 PC and the Dell PC is similar, with the V950 having an advanced operating system (XPE). Just like the Dell PC, the V950 PC is needed for Sapphire sites and can work with or without the Sapphire Site Controller to provide on-site maintenance operations such as:

Backup: Takes a snapshot of the Ruby system files including all applications and data files Restore: Retrieves and loads into the Ruby terminal a snapshot taken earlier using the Backup function Upgrade: Updates the software on the Ruby terminal to a later version that was previously downloaded onto the V950 PC. Revert: Reloads the software application that was running on the Ruby terminal before the Upgrade function was performed.

In addition, the V950 system allows the VeriFone Ruby Customer Support Center to remotely conduct diagnostics while the Ruby SuperSystem is operating.
