Born Hastings, New Zealand. Emigrated to Australia 2008. Currently live in Melbourne, Australia. Summary Born in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and raised in New Zealand, I have a great appreciation for expansive rural landscapes which have come to represent life experiences and lessons to me. This has inspired to my art; where landscapes became stylised to their purist forms; rendered with highly textured, broken strokes in bright/neutral colour schemes symbolising an emotion, a journey, an experience and an idea. Further experimentation, juxtaposing clean smoothly rendered objects with texture and space, coupled with studies in design and architecture: has brought out more direct messages and story telling in my works. This is most apparent in my current series Sacrosanct where my passion for art, wine and awarenhess of lifes ambiguity combine. While I have been painting and experimenting with artworks all my life, I began exhibiting in 2010. My first exhibit was a success with two sales on opening night. Since I have exhibited in numerous group shows and have had a solo show. My works have been purchased for private collections and a board room and I have been commissioned twice. I currently work out of my studio in Hawthorn East where I create works to exhibit in Melbourne galleries and shows, work on commissioned pieces and sell through my website.
