Another Gift From Caribbean Food Delights .

It was less than two weeks after the Reggae Boyz were effectively knocked out the 2002 World Cup to be held in South Korea and Japan that the mother of the Late Reggae Boy, Steve Shorty Malcolm was invited to accept a cash donation from a sport loving firm, Royal Caribbean Bakery and Caribbean Foods Delight. A cheque for U-S one thousand dollars, (1000.00) was presented to Mrs Victoria Malcolm by Mr. Conroy Julian of Promotions and Advertising Agencies Limited at his New Kingston office in Jamaica. The humanitarian gesture by Managing Director of Royal Caribbean Bakery came after he received a telephone call from Conroy Julian, who informed him of the death of Malcolm, one of the members of the Jamaica national football team who was killed in a motor vehicle accident on his way from Kingston to Montego Bay . Mr. Hosang immediately offered to assist the family with some of the expenses related to the funeral. He had met Steve Malcolm briefly just prior to the 1998 World Cup when he toured the New York Tri-state area with other members of the Reggae Boyz football squad. The sports loving Vincent Hosang, hosted the entire team at his Bakery. He followed the progress of the team and his company was invariably listed among the sponsors when the games were aired on radio. He subsequently found out that the Jamaican Government and the Jamaica Football Federation were taking care of the funeral expenses and decided that his contribution could still be useful for the welfare of the two children of the late Steve Malcolm. Mrs. Malcolm expressed her appreciation for the generous offer of Mr. Hosang, Evon Hewitt of Irie FM Sports, who facilitated the live announcement of radio and Mr. Conroy Julian, a catalyst in the whole process. She also expressed appreciation to the Jamaica Football Association for paying to her and the two mothers of Steves children his salary for six months. She added that those funds have long been depleted and that a half finished four bedroom house remains a cause for concern. It has been said that every good deed is guaranteed a reciprocal level of reward, Steve Malcolm played his heart out for the Jamaican team, Mr. Vincent Hosang through his company, bestrides the Caribbean community like a Colossus and has employed many, donated to charity in all fields from sports to various community based organizations. may his business continue to grow and prosper.
