ABSTRACT

Biometrics (or biometric authentication) consists of methods for uniquely recognizing humans based upon one or more intrinsic physical or behavioral traits. So we use BIOMETRIC VOTING MACHINE to avoid misuse of ones RIGHT TO VOTE. Biometric EVM consist of following major parts: HARDWARES Fingerprint Module (SM-630) Microcontroller (AT89C51) PC Interface (MAX 232) Display (JHD-204A) EPROM (24C08) Ballot Unit( consist of voting switches) Control Unit (consist of vote counting switch, power switch)

Biometric Voting Machine works on the principle of accessing fingerprint module. Once the fingerprint of voter is matched with the data stored, the voter gets access to caste the vote. If the access is denied, or the fingerprint does not match with the record, the voter cannot cast his vote. ADVANTAGES: The advantage of BIOMETRIC EVM is to avoid unauthorized access towards casting of vote.
