Group Curriculum
Trauma Recovery
Group Curriculum Group willwork in 8 week Modules lncorporated into the module will be open weeks with the focus to remain primarily on process of the information being presented there will be reflective writing and creative process assignments through out each module. The primary goals of the groups are: . Development of a cohesive narrative of the impact of trauma and strengths each participant hopes to take forward. . lncrease self awareness . Create a sense of community, shared experience and belonging . Development of effective interpersonal skills . Provide a safe place to explore personal issues related to creating a

Through out the group process participants will be encouraged to utilize reflective writing as a means of processing the information they encounter. Week One of each Module will consist of an experiential exercise, which will provide the backdrop for the upcoming 7 weeks. Groups Topics: Relationships Affect Management Conflict Resolution Family Of Origin lssues Women's lssues Trauma and Abuse Parenting

Relationships This group will focus on the meaning and purpose of relationships. Both romantic relationships and friendships will be explored. Each person will explore their own personal experience of being in relationships and develop new strategies for maintaining and establishing new relationships. Affect Management This group will focus on emotional regulation and coping skills Use of art and writing to access sense of self as participants explore their own emotions and responses to day to day experiences. Goals of Group: - Working with Cognitive Distortions to effect improved emotional regulation + Skill development in use of grounding to regulate affect =+ Emotionalawareness
Anger Management and Conflict Resolution: Group members will process the impact of conflict in their lives and develop new skills for handling conflict. Participants will be provided with tools for understanding new ways of communicating. They will explore their own way of communicating and practice using new

Family of Origin lssues This group will focus on the emotional issue brought into the present via the family system. There will be a focus on ending the cycle of violence and abuse that comes from the family history of many women who have been living with domestic violence. Members will explore their role as members of a family and the impact of personal function on relationships.

Trauma and Abuse


This group module will focus on the impact of trauma in participant's lives. Clients come

to understand and have compassion for their own story as they explore impact of trauma on their
present interactions.
