    Timothy Wade PRESTON, 33, apparently lost control of his 1983 Honda motorcycle while traveling southbound on the us-31 on-ramp from Airline Road. Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle and PRESTON sliding onto southbound us-31 from the on ramp from airline. A vehicle driven by Melissa BEALL, 34 years of, spring lake, swerved to avoid a crash, but unfortunately was unable to avoid striking PRESTON. PRESTON was not wearing a helmet.

    FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH The Norton Shores Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred on May 8, 2012 at approximately 5:12 pm. Based on the preliminary investigation, Timothy Wade PRESTON, 33 years old, North Muskegon, apparently lost control of his 1983 Honda motorcycle while traveling southbound on the US-31 on-ramp from Airline Road. Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle and PRESTON sliding onto southbound US-31 from the on-ramp. A vehicle driven by Melissa BEALL, 34 years of, Spring Lake, traveling southbound on US-31 swerved to avoid a crash, but unfortunately was unable to avoid striking PRESTON. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. PRESTON was not wearing a helmet. The Muskegon County Sheriffs Department Victim Services Unit was called to the scene to assist. This crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Norton Shores Police Department at 231-733-2691.
