Upgrade Oracle 10gR2 on Standby database Step-step to upgrade database from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.

4 with environment standby database; Before run this process you must ready a oracle patch to upgrade your database. This patch you can get from metalink. step I on primary database: - sqlplus / as sysdba sql> shutdown immediate; sql> exit; - extract patch oracle 10.2.0.4 - install oracle patch: - ./runInstaller - after finish run this step to upgrade database - check & update TNSNAMES.ORA on this server primary database - update oracle parameter database "compatibe=10.2.0.4.0" - sqlplus / as sysdba sql> startup upgrade; sql> @?/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql sql> @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql sql> shutdown immediate; sql> startup nomount pfile='$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/inittestdb.ora'; sql> shutdown immediate; sql> startup; sql> show parameter compatible; step II - standby database: - sqlplus / as sysdba sql> shutdown immediate;

sql> exit; - extract patch oracle 10.2.0.4 - install oracle patch: - ./runInstaller - after finish run this step to upgrade database - check & update TNSNAMES.ORA on this server standby database - update oracle parameter database "compatibe=10.2.0.4.0" - sqlplus / as sysdba sql> startup nomount pfile='$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/inittestdb.ora'; sql> shutdown immediate; sql> startup mount; sql> show parameter compatible; sql> alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session; sql> select sequence#, applied from v$archived_log order by sequence# After finished you can check log apply from primary to standby. If this process success, upgrading process finished.
