Abstract
Acid mine drainage (AMD) causes environmental pollution that affects many countries that have historic or current mining the industry. Prevent the formation or relocation of AMD from the source is generally considered more option, although this is not feasible in many locations, and in such cases, it is necessary to collect, treat and discharge mine of water. There are a variety of options available for remediating AMD, which can be divided into those that use chemicals to one or biological mechanisms to neutralize AMD and remove heavy metals from solution. This review describes the current Treatment passive, active treatment, a biotic strategy, an abiotic and bioremediation currently used to mitigate AMD and compares the strengths and weaknesses of each. currently there are ways of handling the several, the AMD can use sulphate reducing bacteria are cheap compost bioreactor combination of inexpensive new materials and technologies are also described. In addition, the factors currently affecting the selection of remediation systems, and how these criteria can be changed in the future.
