aces, a network of schools in Central and South Eastern Europe, aims at fostering international school cooperation and intercultural dialogue of young people. 15 partner countries are involved: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, and Slovenia. aces is an initiative of the Austrian ERSTE Foundation coordinated by Interkulturelles Zentrum in cooperation with VELDOMand supported by the ministries in charge of education of all participating countries. The core of aces is an annual project competition offering a support scheme for cross-border school partnership projects. The winning projects are awarded with a grant and supported to carry out their bi- or trilateral partnership projects.
