I move that we formally request that the District remove Hillsdale as a candidate site among the four stated

options for the possible relocation of Peninsula High School as described in the PTSO Meeting Report for May 14th for the following reasons: 1. The Hillsdale site acreage that would constitute the new Peninsula High site has been mis-designated as surplus land and should be properly recognized as underutilized land available for the continued improvement of the existing Hillsdale campus. 2. Relocating PHS to the underutilized land at Hillsdale would place the new campus 0.9 miles from the southern boundary of the District, effectively negating the Districts stated intention of improving student access with a central location. 78% of Continuation School students live north of route 92 and Hillsdale is 1.2 miles south of route 92. 3. The underutilized land on the Hillsdale site under consideration for the PHS relocation represents a narrow sliver of property and could not accommodate a separate campus with a its own separate identity. Commingling of student populations would be unavoidable.
4. The largest enrollment increases in the District are expected in the Hillsdale

attendance area, and the District priority should be to earmark any underutilized property toward accommodating these new students.
