FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Legal Step Cleared for Planned National Capital Region Passenger Rail Service
Canadian Transport Agency (CTA): Declares Prince of Wales Bridge to be Legally Available for Continued Railway Operations; Gives Ottawa 90 Days to Comply with Reporting Requirements. 11 June, 2012, Ottawa/Gatineau: A decision last week by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) brings the private-sector transit firm Moose Inc. a step closer to realizing its plan for re-development of passenger rail service on 400 km of existing railway throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). Mobility Ottawa-Outaouais: Systems & Enterprises Inc. (Moose Inc.) submitted a request to the CTA to affirm the rules and regulations that apply to maintenance and safety of the Prince of Wales railway bridge across the Ottawa River, between LeBreton Flats in Ottawa, and Hull Sector in Gatineau. "The most important element of this week's decision by the CTA is that this key inter-provincial crossing of the Ottawa River remains available today for railway operations, and is regulated under the Canada Transportation Act", observed Greg Somers, Moose Inc.'s Legal Counsel. "This bridge is the linchpin to any whole-region transit concept", said Joseph Potvin, President and General Manager of Moose Inc. "The CTA's decision is a win-win-win for Ottawa, for Moose Inc, and for everyone who believes that the NCR requires a safe, efficient and integrated transit system", he said. "This is great news for residents and businesses on both the Ontario and Quebec sides of this large region, and for tourists too. People are losing far too much time to gridlock, spending far too much on fuel, and are emitting far too much pollution to get around. We can now proceed rapidly in collaboration with the City of Ottawa, the City of Gatineau and several surrounding municipalities to restore the National Capital Region's passenger rail service, on existing infrastructure." -30Additional Information: www.letsgomoose.com
