    USS MISSOURI CPO LEGACY ACADEMY CLASS 007 (26-31 AUG 2012) CPO SELECTEE SCREENING FORM 1.

    Purpose: The CPO Legacy Academy is a six day event held onboard the USS MISSOURI designed to instill a sense of heritage and tradition for 50 new Chief Petty Officer Selectees. The CPO Legacy Academy is demanding, both physically and mentally, and requires a high level of motivation and commitment from participants. The purpose of this document is to help individual CPO Messes determine candidate Selectees to attend the CPO Legacy Academy. 2. Selectee Criteria: Selectees attending the CPO Legacy Academy must be of the highest caliber; within PFA standards, and able to fully participate in all physical activities. The selected few will also require no-cost TAD orders to the CPO Legacy Academy and a nonrefundable fee of $100.00 paid in advance. 3. Heritage and Military Formations: Prior to the CPO Legacy Academy, Selectees who have been confirmed need to take the time to learn about the significance of the USS MISSOURI, the attack on Pearl Harbor, and any significant contributions made by Chief Petty Officers during that period of WWII Naval history. 4. Selectee Dismissal: The appointed CPO Legacy Academy CMC will make the final determination on dismissal of any Selectee from the CPO Legacy Academy. Although not anticipated, if a Selectee is dismissed for any reason, communication will first be made directly from the CPO Legacy Academy CMC to the Selectees CMC. In summary, choose only those Selectees that you would most want representing your CPO Mess to attend the CPO Legacy Academy. The CPO Legacy Academy is a great experience for Chiefs and Selectees alike; one that defines our past and provides background for guiding our Sailors through the future. Your support continues this tradition, strengthens our Navy through the Chiefs Mess, and enhances pride in service to our country. Navy Chief! Navy Pride!
