K-pop Fever

Ladies and gentlemen, to open our topic today let me tell you about what kpop is actually. K-pop or known as Korean Pop is a new music genre that was originally come from South Korea, Asian. Some say K-pop offered another style of music which has catchier and offer easy listening songs on their lover. What makes it different too is that the style the singer has shown is something new for us and how they can deliver music on their own way that I believe none of this ever existed before. Just like how they could mix perfectly between the upbeat songs with various kinds of dancing and obviously with their good looking actresses who will make anyone who watch it will fall for them Just like a fever it can infects people from one to another with no boundary. Teenage, Adults, Woman, Man even Kids could be one of its victims. This fever will cause the victims trying to infect it to others, spontaneous dancing, extended daydreaming, and hearing music all day. If you had those kinds of symptoms I would not probably ask you to see the doctor and drink some medicine. . Should be emphasized that this kind of disease wont cause any illness to the victims. Even, this phenomenon has spreading quickly in their victims, none of them are trying to cure it. They prefer to infect, to contaminate this virus to their closest person so they have friends to share with and thats how K-pop fever has been a new epidemic and could spread like fast in our country, ladies and gentlemen. Korean Pop isnt just being a new music genre for Indonesian music lover but also give a little touch in fashion, style and even habit. Because when once someone likes it they wont stop exploring about the latest update of Korean Pop itself until they got bored by the time. Not everyones was suffered by this fever, there are still many out there who dont feel any interest in joining the euphoria of Korean wave. Its all about favor. We have many things that we can learn from the existence of Korean wave in Indonesia. First how South Korea could raise up from its darkest age with its industrial sector that of course was being introduced well with their entertainment side. South Korea actually wasnt a very welfare country like nowadays, but since they are really focused in developing their industrial sector they could make it. Until South Korea is famous with its entertainment and plus how the entertainment also have a contribution

in promoting their industrial products, lets say their electronic devices for example, the brand of the product make it their product to be promoted by one of the famous girl band who have many fans all over the world and they share it on youtube. So their fans which are obviously crazy about them wants to follow what their favorite artist has and use. That was only seen from the economic side. Next it will impact to their tourism side. On how people will probably getting curious about South Korea or maybe just wanted to see their favorite girl band and boy band directly so that they want to visit Seoul desperately. Another good point that can we learn from K-pop itself is that how they could be as consistent as now, still holding on the same music genre until it could be assumed as the trend mark of South Korea itself. Until the worldwide has admitted that Seoul is a home for that kind of house production. We can learn from this, how to be known as the pioneer we have to be consistent holding on our purposes not just getting easily contaminate with others without knowing the real meaning just like the phenomenon in our music roof nowadays like some group of people singing and worse lip sing while dancing that only take aside the quantity not quality. Even if Yes, K-pop with its girl and boy band give a new color to Indonesian music but somehow we cannot just copy it all without considering the quality and will it suitable with ours. If only we could make Kpop as an inspiration not a piece product that should all be copied but creating something new from it, and supported with a good quality of the artist itself, I believe we could make something different and works good. One thing we can learn here is that, the existence of K-pop wasnt only to give a new color to our trends and be consumed by us but how we dont just simply trying to copy their style like the phenomena I said before. But how they could inspire us, theres any specific different between inspire and copy. Somehow copy means you just follow it fully without any filtering, but inspire means how it could make you think creatively and motivated to be better. As I said in earlier line that it may be able attacking anyone, still our Teenager as our young generation is the most suitable target for K-pop. How could it be teenager? As I observed teen age is an age where people mostly got the most interest in something fresh, and always trying to seek for something new. No wonder K-pop can have the best place in our Teenagers hearts. Then appear a question on how the heaven K-pop wave could reach Indonesia? Actually it wasnt K-Pop who booming first in

Indonesia, it was Korean Drama which take place if I am not mistaken. Then as time goes by, people who already fallen for Korean Drama then exploring more and getting curious on whats another entertainment thingy they could explored. And boom here is the Korean Pop which has being the trending topic in our teenager then finally spreading rapidly just like a viruses. No wonder K-pop is assumed as a new trend in this era in Indonesia. If there is a trend there is an impact and if there is an impact there is always the compromise. Both for positive and negative. When someone has getting over to K-pop they will always have a certain idol they admired the most. Actually in my opinion its not that bad to admire someone like Korean Idol. One of the good impacts is shown in this case. First, our teenager could have a right idol to be admired as long as they can control their self. I believe to be fond of Korean idol is fine since they admiring the right person. How could I say so? First, as I read on an article admiring someone who has professionalism in doing their job will bring a good suggestion to the fans that will suggest the fans to do the same. As the custom of fans itself is admiring and feeling proud to the attitude of their idol. How could I dare to say so? Again as I read on one of my sisters Korean magazines that to be an artist in South Korea is really hard, first that they must have good grade at school, and have a good skill that has been examined by the agency, also at least should have training at least until they master their skill and able to control it. So thats why how professionalism is the very first place to debut a new artist in South Korea. The second is that how our teenager could wider their social intercourse and even knowledge. Why? When someone likes K-pop I can make sure that they will not keep it for her or his self. They should share it with others, for example joining any kind of gathering, then have a discus to their idol. And how by liking K-pop fans usually have to get used to know the newest update about their idol and that will force them to aware on how to connect herself with the worldwide that soon will create a sophisticated teenager. Sounds rare? But thats the truth. Still there is some negative effect, like the loosening of our teenagers nationalism because somehow when someone is getting crazy on something all day life will be filled with it and afraid that they could just simply forget the culture and tradition of Indonesia for theyre to focus to chase their obsession in K-pop or maybe more intend to learn more about Korean.

Second of all is that it was afraid to caused a consumerism soul in our teenager. That being a k-pop lover is not cheap. Sometimes we could so desperately wanted to buy the album of our idol, the merchandises and next it will end to a desire to watch our idol concerts that all of those sacrifices are not cheap. Third how it could ruin our concentration in studying because all day, all we think is just k-pop and having an extended daydreaming to our idol. I shouldnt have tell you on how this response works because I believe all of you who ever get mad of something must ever to have feel this. If there is an impact there is always the compromise. Its all about our self ability to control and to hold our desire so we consume K-pop wisely because somehow everything that was consumed too excessive wont bring any good but will cause harms to us Back to ourselves again that its all depending on our taste, whether you will be infected by these viruses K-pop or we are too strong to neglect it for some reasons. Because the entire sentence above somehow is originally from opinion who was also ever infected by this virus.
