MCCARTHY CAMPAIGN ENDORSED BY THE NYS PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION AND THE ALBANY PERMANENT PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, IAFF LOCAL 2007
William McCarthy (D-Albany) today announced that his campaign has been endorsed by the New York State (NYS) Professional Firefighters Association and its local affiliate, the Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 2007 NYS Professional Firefighters Association President Michael McManus said, William McCarthy is the new brand of leader that we need in the NYS Assembly-someone who understands how important it is to protect the rights of New York States brave emergency first responders. He is committed to the principle of protecting people over the fray of politics. We need more people like him to step up and serve in state government. Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 2007 President Andrew Hirsch said, There's a crowded field of candidates running for the 109th Assembly District. William McCarthy stood above them all in his commitment to supporting local firefighters and in turn protecting the public's safety. Albany and the rest of the District will be well served by sending McCarthy to the NYS Assembly. William McCarthy said, Each and every day, firefighters put their lives on the line for all of us. We have a responsibility to our communities to make sure these essential services are protected. Their endorsement underscores my commitment to making sure those entrusted with the publics safety are supported and valued. The NYS Professional Firefighters Association consists of 18,000 members in 104 local unions across the state. The Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 2007 consists of approximately 250 firefighters employed in city of Albany.

McCarthy has also been endorsed by Council 82, NYS Law Enforcement Officers Union, the Albany Police Officers Union, the Albany County Correction Officers Union, Local 775 and the Town of Bethlehem Police Supervisors, Local 786. ###
