How to run SUPREM on university computers or your laptop with Windows?


Using Unix system is not familiar to most of you so, this guideline was prepared for Windows user to execute SUPREM on your laptop or computer with SSH connection. Also, Unix computer laboratory which is located in TRS148 has limited access time you need yellow access card, and cannot be there after midnight this method allows you to run SUPREM at any place on campus with school computer or even your laptop. Procedure: 1. Install PSviewer, WinSCP, PuTTY, and Notepad++ on your laptop or university computer that you will use. PSviewer allows you transform the file from .PS to .pdf file (If you have Adobe Acrobat, it is not necessary. Only for those of you have Adobe Acrobat reader) Those files were located in public folder of Dr.Khaliq 2. Run PuTTY and WinSCP, make sure you connect to same server on WinSCP and PuTTY (SCP for file transfer, putty for command line interface) Domain names - s184pc0X.ee; X=1~7 (total 7 servers, try to use different server with other students use; it reduces load on the server) Login - UserID and password; first three letters from UserID and and last four numbers of TechID) If you do not want to type the domain name every time, you can save your profile 3. Run Notepad++ to write input file and then save as .inp extension 4. Drag and drop the input file to server window from your computer window It will transfer to the server 5. Execute tsuprem4 on same folder that your files saved. (same directory) If your files were saved on Desktop you have to execute tsuperm4 in Desktop so that SUPREM can find your input file Command for checking your location is pwd

6. Output file, graph, and picture will save as same as your input filename with .out, .PS 7. Drag and drop the output file to your computer from the server 8. You can read the result on Notepad++ (print with it or copy and paste in Word) 9. Repeat step 3 to 8 until you get the result 10. Print them out with MavPrint .PS file will change to .pdf file as you double clicking the file (after installing PSviewer) 11. After finishing your work, type exit on PuTTY command and close the window for WinSCP

Type the domain name and click Open

Type userid and password then terminal will show up

Input and Output file as .inp and .out respectively

Running tsprem4; it should be in same directory
