SPORTS DAY 2012 We hope all the children enjoyed Healthy Living Week ending with

Wow! Langford 2012 Sports Day was an amazing day! The Olympian themed torch bearing opening ceremony started the day and once the weather had decided to dry the grass the hurdle races warmed up the children and the crowd. All children competed by ability groups in track and field events so we had many events to entertain us. After a sportsman's lunch we all joined in the Para Olympics events wearing blindfolds or kneeling down. The whole school field became a moving body of sport. At the award ceremony there were over 140 bronze and silver certificates and truly amazing gold medals for the winners. The closing ceremony was choreographed around the events that would take place later at London 2012 and it was a superb close to the day

BURFORD PARTNERSHIP OF SCHOOLS FOUNDATION MULTI-SKILLS

On a very wet and rainy Monday last week, the Foundation children were transported off to Burford Secondary for the Burford Partnership of Schools Multi-skills workshop. This was led by Mrs Brownjohn and the Year 6 children from St Christophers. Ninety partnership children took part and the skills the children participated were related to improving the childrens agility, co-ordination and balance which included activities such as throwing, catching, target practice, over and under and hurdles and tag. I really enjoyed leading the younger children; it was very useful in teaching us about leadership. We were teaching the Foundation Children different skills. In the end, because it was raining, we couldnt use the school field so we went to Burford Secondary School and used the big Sports Hall. The Year 6 children really enjoyed sharing their skills with the Foundation children. If Mrs Brownjohn didnt help us we wouldnt have been able to run it and all the Year 6s enjoyed themselves very much By Eleanor Daft Year 6 Willow Class

BURFORD PARTNERSHIP OF SCHOOLS SWIMMING GALA

Like the past years, there was a Burford Partnership Swimming Gala on the 3 rd July 2012 at Carterton Leisure Centre with four schools taking part; St Christophers, Brize Norton, Wychwood and Burford. As a team we won most of our races and all of our relays. In the overall scores Wychwood came 4 th with 77 points, Burford were 3rd with 80 points, Brize Norton came 2nd with 84 points and we won by 42 points so we had 126 points! Everyone had fun and thats all thanks to Mrs Brownjohn.! By Annabel Skidmore Year 6 Willow Class
