Includes the provision of an enormous variety of facilities and services Some of these businesses providing these services are locally owned and operated Some are small family-run enterprises, while other are large corporations

1. The attraction of a destination arises from a
mix of resources and services. Without such a mix, place will not work as a destination. Mix varies from one place to another, and this variation gives each destination its individual character 2. Tourism must compete with other industries for the use of a destinations resources

The commercial tourist industry is mainly involved in, and profits from, the provision of transport, hospitality and support services but it is dependent on destination resources which constitute its basic capital Tourism is an unusual industry because it depends on the use resources which it does not own.

is the most widely recognized and the leading international organization in the field of travel and tourism today it serves as a global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism knowhow it is an official specialized agency of the United Nations and has the objective of promoting and developing tourism worldwide

is the forum for global business leaders in travel and tourism is the only body representing the private sector in all parts of the industry worldwide The mission of the council is to raise awareness of the economic and social contribution of travel and tourism and to work with governments on policies that unlock the industrys potential to create jobs and generate prosperity

is the global organization for virtually all the international air carriers the principal function of IATA is to safely facilitate the movement of persons and goods from any point on the world air network to any other by any combination of routes is a valuable information source on the world airline industry

is an organization of governments joined to promote civil aviation on a worldwide scale This organization has adopted a plan Guiding Civil Aviation into the 21st Century to deal more effectively with the constantly evolving challenges facing civil aviation, particularly in the area of flight safety

promote policies designed to achieve the highest sustainable economic growth and employment , contribute to sound economic expansion in members as well as nonmembers, contribute to the expansion of world trade

recognized leader and authority in tourism development at par with international standards, responsive to cultural, environmental and social concerns that will generate investments, foreign exchange and employment to mold an enhanced sense of national pride for all Filipinos.
