Top Business
Century A/C Supply was recognized by the Houston Chronicle as one of the Top 100 Privately-Owned Businesses in Houston. The Top 100 is an annual review of Houston businesses that ranks companies in a variety of categories. The results were published yesterday and we made the cut! It was a tough competition, with corporations such as Landrys, Academy, and Gallery Furniture all making the list of top privately-owned companies. Ranked 84th, we were only 5 spots behind Gallery (#79), but we topped Sun & Ski Sports (#85) and Newmark Homes (#88)! The full list can be found in the link below. Gung ho and keep up the great work! Lets shoot for the Top 50 next year http://www.chron.com/default/article/Checkout-the-largest-private-companies-3651992. php?appSession=613574556171&RecordID=& PageID=2&PrevPageID=&cpipage=2&CPISortT ype=&CPIorderBy=

The

Distinguished Sales Persons

Our sales staff is one of the best out there. They hold dozens of certifications, awards, and honors. Recently, two of our own received very distinguishing honors. Jacob Kunath is now a Leadership Lyceum graduate. Only two people a year are invited into the program designed by HAA after an extensive application process. Jacob is our first inductee and hopefully not the last. Travis Fowler was recently asked to join the Austin Apartment Association board! It is very difficult for a distributor to break that barrier and be invited to serve on the board. Gung ho guys!

Would you like some chili with that Heat Pump?

Once again taking top prize was easy as pie. Charlie Gallagher and Travis Fowler took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the FreeStone county Go Texans cookoff with their briskets. On top of all that they earned a spot at the Houston Rodeo cookoff for next year. Go team!

This unofficial motto of the US Marine Corps is an abbreviation for the Mandarin Gongye Hezhoushe, or industrial cooperative. The term was used in China, starting in 1938, to refer to small, industrial operations that were being established in rural China to replace the industrial centers that had been captured by the Japanese. The phrase was clipped to the initial characters of the two words, gung ho (or gung he, as it would be transliterated today), which means work together. This clipping became a slogan for the industrial cooperative movement. Enter Lt. Col. Evans Carlson, US Marine Corps. Carlson was a military attache in the US embassy to China in the late-30s. In China, Carlson reported on both the operations of the Chinese army in the field as well as the countrys industrial capacity and was favorably impressed by the industrial cooperatives. When he returned to the States and the US entered WWII, Carlson was appointed commander of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. Recalling his time in China, Carlson chose gung ho as the motto for his elite battalion and by late 1942 was widely adopted throughout the Marine Corps as an expression of spirit and can do attitude. So the term Gung Ho now becomes a slang term meaning Can Do. - Chinapage.com
