Course Objectives for Theory of Machines II (302043)

1. To enable the students to understand the kinematics as well as dynamic analysis of power transmission elements (UnitI, IV, V and VI). To enable them to understand automation fundamentals (UnitII). To enable the students to understand the concept of automotive control and stability (UnitIII).
2. To prepare students for successful careers in industry that meet the needs of Indian and multinational companies by teaching them how to apply theory in actual practice. 3. To develop the ability among students to collect the required data to formulate the problem and to solve it by giving them opportunity to undertake mini projects. To

provide opportunity to the students to apply the fundamentals in the analysis of real life engineering problems involving basic machine elements.
4. To provide students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for post-graduate studies. For this, AssignmentI is designed in such a way that they will be able to formulate the problem, build the mathematical model, analyze it and draw the conclusions based on results obtained. 5. To promote student awareness of the life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes of professional practice through deliberations in lectures and practical sessions. 6. To inculcate ethical values and belongingness towards society by making them aware about the currents problems of national interest from Theory of Machines domain and motivating them in undertaking mini projects for rural development, energy conservation (minimal losses), environment friendly designs and waste utilization. 7. To provide platform to undertake innovative projects and research by conducting project exhibitions and innovative project competition. 8. To equip students to face the latest developments and modern trends in technology.
