He served as President and Chief Executive Officer from January 1998 to July 1998 and has been a director since June 1997. He has also served as Chief Technology Officer from August 1998 to present. Before co-founding Docent, Mr Mandelkern founded and served from July 1993 to June 1997 as President of AlmondSeed Software, a provider of UNIX utility software. From October 1996 to June 1997, Mr Mandelkern was a consultant to Stanford Testing Systems Inc, the predecessor to Docent.

Academic Director ICUS s Geoff is an Australian citizen and has a PhD in educational software evaluation from the University of Western Australia. He is a Principal Consultant at ICUS and heads the companys R&D programmes. He is also the Lead Course Designer for three course design teams at ICUS. In the late 1980s he established the world's first university programmes in the area of Interactive Multimedia Technologies and was appointed Head of a new School in that area. Geoff has held a professorial position in multimedia learning with Edith Cowan University in Perth since 1994 and, prior to joining ICUS, had published over 30 refereed articles in eLearning journals as well as being directly involved in the development of over 20 educational software products. In the 12 months before joining ICUS in 2000 he established ECUs new Centre for Learning Innovation and Future Technologies, and was its first Director.
