GOD loves uniqueness. Think of snowflakes. God created every single snowflake different. In one cubic foot of snowfakes, there are 18 million snowflakes. How many snowflakes do you think are there in Alaska? In Antartica? All over the globe? How many snowflakes have fallen to earth for the past thousands of years? But no matter how many gazillions there are, not a single one is the same as the other. Amazing. If thats too mind blogging, think of beetles. Did you know that there are 300,000 various species of beetles? Question: Couldnt God have just made 300 species of beetles? Wouldnt that have been already too much? But God loves to create unique individuals. Nature is an explosion of uniqueness! So many colors, shapes, sizes, textures, intensities, smells, movements Now think of YOU. Physically, youre so unique, no one has your fingerprints, footprints, and voiceprints. No one has your eyesthats why they use eyes now for hi-tech identification. No one has your

lipsthe grooves on them are uniquely your own. No one has your heart, your veins, your bones... Every part of you is totally unique. In fact, no one on planet earth has your DNA. And going beyond the physical world, no one has your exact personality, or exact background, or exact history. Dear friend, you werent made by a factory with an assembly line, put together on a conveyor belt by robotic angels. You were fashioned by a Master Craftsman in His heavenly studio, every part of you painstakingly shaped by His loving hands. Because of this, you are a one-of-a-kind, custom-designed Masterpiece, created for a special purpose. I pray you discover this sacred uniqueness and holy purpose today as we start our exciting brand new series, YOUNIQUE: God Made You Different for a Purpose. Your eyes will be opened to the four uniqueness that make you special: Talk 1: Your Personality Talk 2: Your Past Talk 3: Your Passion Talk 4: Your Potential

Give What You Have

HEALING PRIEST Fr. Nelson Osorio, OSJ, started his homily with a Jesus clap enlivening the Feast more. Reflecting on the Gospel from John 6:1-15, Fr. Osorio pointed out the difference between the views of Jesus apostles Philip and Andrew on how to feed the 5,000 persons who followed Him. Philip, seeing they hardly have food, doubts that they can feed all the people. Andrew, on the other hand, mustering enough faith, finds a young boy among the crowd who offers his baon-- five barley loaves and two fish. The food multipliesenough to feed everyone, with leftovers even. A devotee of St. Joseph Marello, Fr. Osorio has embarked on a project to promote devotion to the saint, testifying on a number of miracles attributed to St. Joseph. A most memorable incident happened to a young woman to whom Fr. Osorio gave a statue of St. Joseph. The woman was at home with her boyfriend when typhoon Ondoy hit their place. When the two had to flee for safety, the woman was able to bring only a few belongings, one of them, the statue of St. Joseph. But as the two negotiated the floodwaters, she dropped the statue. Her boyfriend swam into the floodwater to look for the image. He didnt find it. Instead, he saw three children gasping for breath in the murky water, and quickly, he was able to guide the children to safety. St. Joseph has been known as a protector of people

THE series Tagged was about establishing good relationships with people you care about-- your friends, family, people around you. But, Bro. Bo Sanchez asked, What about relationship with people that you do not likeparticularly your enemies? Bro. Bo shared a painful experience during the early years of our Light of Jesus Family, about a fellow preacher, Ric*. A salesman selling insurance, Ric became a close friend of Bro. Bo. Ric and his wife Gemma lived in an apartment. Bo, then only in his 20s, lived right next door. They worked together to build LOJ. And Ric, with his good looks and booming voice, became one of the most influential LOJ preachers. But then, one day Ric told Bo he was leaving the community, tagging along some 20 members, to build his own church. Apparently, earlier, unknown to Bo, Ric had talked to the members and convinced them to separate from LOJ. Hurt beyond measure, Bro. Bo still had to go through the excruciating task of announcing to the members that

their young community was already splintered. Tears fell, some muttered angry words. Still, the next day, Bro. Bo did what to many was unthinkable. He visited Ric and his people and, although at the time he had little resources, he donated seed money to Rics group and blessed them. Sadly, the church didnt last. The group disbanded and Ric returned to his old job selling insurance. Then, 25 years later, Bo got a call from Ric. They met, had lunch together, and Bo bought

insurance from Ric. It was like the good old times again, Bo said. But one day, Gemma called Bo. She said Ric had passed away, succumbing to heart attack. She said what to Bo and the rest of the LOJ members was so comforting: a few days before his death, Ric was invited to preach in a prayer meeting, doing what he did bestpreaching the Gospel, proclaiming the Good News of Gods unconditional love for His people. Gemma later joined LOJ again. Then she met an American. They fell in love, got married, settled in a province in Luzon, and they hope to build a Feast there. Bro. Bo said miracles happen when you love your enemy. And Jesus had given us the exact instructions how to. If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If your enemy is thirsty, give him water. And you will be surprised how blessed you will be. Bro. Bo then asked everyone to decide on one concrete thing that they are to do to manifest their love for people difficult to love. --Janella Ibay Photos by Apple Chico

HEALING THE SICK. The Sunday before the BreakFeast, Bro. Bo announced that a healing session would cap the Tagged series. And so the Feast last Sunday overflowed with attendees, some of whom had to be accommodated in the nearby Forum tent. Thus, Bro. Bo, assisted by Chelle Crisanto and members of the Feast Umbrella Ministry, braved the rains to pray over the sick and comfort them.

in dire situation, and so I believe he was the one who led the man to the children. Fr. Osorio said. Fr. Osorio then said in the days Gospel, there are three characters: Jesus, Andrew, and the kid with five loaves of bread and two fish. How

can such limited food feed the hungry crowd who number in the thousands? But, Fr. Osorio pointed out, whats important is the kid gives whatever he has. Thats the true meaning of generosity--giving what you have. You never really give

until it hurts. This is the way to be blessed more and more. Through the small amount of food, the crowd was fed, and the apostles even filled 12 baskets with leftovers. Blessings flow when you give with all your heart. Bella Estrella

TODAY

Talk 1: Your Personality Unlock Your Uniqueness

Psalm 139:13-16 (LB) You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb.Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Ephesians 2:10 We are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.

MINISTRIES
I attended the last Kerygma Conference because my cousin gave me a ticket. From the KCON, I learned about the Feast which I shared with some friends. Funny, they started attending the Feast well ahead of me. Because of some problems, I eventually attended the Feast in Pasig early this year. It was there that I resolved to go to a Feast regularly. ---Judith Roa
WHATS in the Kerygma Conference that make people go to the Feastand yes, get closer and closer to God? Read on Kerygma, a Greek word that means proclamation of the Gospel, is the name chosen by Bro. Bo Sanchez for the publication that is now the leading inspirational magazine in the Philippines. With the support of his prayer community, the Light of Jesus Family, Bro. Bo founded the Shepherds Voice Publications Inc. which began to publish Kerygma in 1983. Since then, along with the SVP staff, he has met with Kerygma readers in rallies throughout the country. Through the years, Kerygma has been blessed not only with hundreds of readers but also supporters from around the world who now comprise the Kerygma Family, a borderless, non physical, virtual community of members spanning the entire world, providing members a complete spiritual support system to keep them growing in their spiritual and personal life. In 2006, with the Light of Jesus members as main servants, Kerygma Family members as well as people from all walks of life gathered in Kerygma Live!, a worship rally held at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. During the rally, many were so blessed that

they asked for a repeat of the event. And so the following year, the Light of Jesus mounted the first ever Kerygma Conference with the support of a sister of SVP, the Shepherds Voice Radio and Television Foundation. Kerygma Conference 2007 was held also at the Philsports Arena on November 24-25, 2007, centering on the theme You Have the Power. Spiritual wonders happened at the Kerygma Conference 2007 the lame walked, the downtrodden found new hope for a better life, those who hungered for spiritual nourishment had their fill of Gods power of love. But the people wanted more. Meditating on Gods directions for His people, Bo realized God has already given what His people need and all they have to do is discover those treasures. To bring this message to Gods people, Bro. Bo called for a third

conference-- Kerygma Conference 2008-- which centered on this divine revelation: Awaken the Miracle in You! Countless miracles of conversion and deepening faith happened in KCON 2008, which led to Kerygma Conference 2009. The 2009 conference centered on the theme Dream Big, Win Big, which Bro. Bo anchored on Gods promise that His abundant blessings are ready anytime for those who have faith that their dreams will come true! The last days of 2009 and on to 2010 were difficult days as the country suffered the Ondoy and Pepeng deluge and the blows of the global economic crisis. Amid the crises, Bro. Bo remained hoping in God and inspired everyone with the theme he chose for Kerygma Conference 2010: Restoration. KCON 2010 thus was an exhilarating learning event where speaker after speaker taught

4 THE FEAST August 5, 2012

attendees how to experience spiritual renewal and restoration of faith in Gods Power and Love. The days following KCON 2010, attendees affirmed they received blessings more than they asked for. As Gods people receive grace after grace, the promise in 2 Corinthians 3:18 began to be fulfilled: But we all... are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. And so the following year, Kerygma Conference 2011 was all about G2G. Its glory time! When Gods glory reigns, the best in His peopleYou!appear. Yes, You.You are Gods creation. He is your Father and You are His Child, created in His image and likeness. Maybe you dont feel it right now. But You are His Champion! Thats what Kerygma Conference 2012 is all about: Champions, Arise!

I attended the KCON to know what Gods message is for me, and how Hes going to work through me. In life, Ive been used to being very structured, and God is just telling me now to relax! The KCON leaders wisdom gave me a lot of life again. Its wonderful to know that when youre down and burnt out, theres

always a community you can come home to. I can feel Gods presence in each and every one and I am always assured that His love is so amazing and He is healing me. I have nothing to say but THANK YOU to our amazing Lord! --Ces Pilapil

ANAWIM, A KCON BENEFICIARY PARTNER

Sweet 16, Kissed, and Loved

IF you attend the Kerygma Conference 2012, you will be helping one of its beneficiary partners, the Anawim Home for Abandoned Elderly founded by Bro. Bo Sanchez in 1996. A portion of the KCON ticket sales will go to Anawim which celebrated

its 16th founding anniversary last June 29. Yes, Anawim is sweet 16, already kissed a lot and so much loved. We celebrated yet another year of joy in this blessed place with thanksgiving, tribute, remembrance, love, and a prophecy...

Tito Gene, Tita Pilar, with daughter Pinky at Anawim during an LOJ celebration.

THANKSGIVING. At 10 a.m., Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL, LOJs spiritual adviser, presides over the Thanksgiving Mass. The event coincided with the Feast Day of Saints Peter and Paul, thus Fr. Steve compared the generosity of the two apostle saints in serving the kingdom of God with the generosity of the people serving at Anawim.

REMEMBRANCE. God will give us even more, Fr. Steve said as he recalls that way back in 1996, Bos family, Marisa Chikiamco, and himself never planned that the same place with the old bahay kubos (nipa huts) would be like how it looks today. At Anawim, God always provided through all the 16 years, and He will provide for many more years. We just have to trust Him, and say yes to His call to be available to serve, he added.

TRIBUTE. Fr. Steve paid tribute to Tita Neneng Mangahas who left her comfortable home to live with the elderly, serving them as their House Mother, until her death in 2008, collapsing as she led the people of Anawim in worship, and then breathing her last.
Anawim Board member Bro. Jill Ramiscal (right) with OIC Carlos Dimson.

LOVE. Bro. Bo Sanchez expresses his love for the elderly and thanks Anawim benefactors, personnel, and volunteer servants for their sacrifice and selfless service.

This is a place of love. . .

The Long Way Looking for Home

By JUDITH ROA Illustration by RALPH SEMILLA I FIRST saw the Kerygma magazine at our library in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, way back in college. Although I was curious about what the word kerygma meant, I did not read the mag. All I had in mind then was I just had to finish my homework at once. Early on, I had been looking for meaning in what I had been doing with my life. I took every opportunity to make something out of my life. I found myself working in various places-- Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. I worked even as far as Mexico and Guatemala. I served as a teacher and as a guidance counselor, and, most of the time, both. Still searching for meaning in my life, I listened to the Catholic radio station, the Radio Veritas, where I heard about the Divine Mercy Shrine in Marilao, Bulacan, from Fr. Vic Robles. So one day, I found myself visiting the shrine. There, a man shared a testimony how he suffered cancer, how he found comfort in praying the novena to the Divine Mercy, asking the Lord to heal him, and soon enough, he got healed. If I am not mistaken, he was Bro. Alvin Barcelona, one of the Feast builders I would meet later. At the Radio Veritas, I also got to listen to Gabay, where, for the first time, I heard a talk by Bro. Bo Sanchez. Hosted by Rizza Singson-Kawpeng, who I would find out later, is editor-in-chief of Kerygma, the program guided me through my search for meaning in my life. The program featured talks of Bro. Bo Sanchez daily, and I listened to him intently as he spoke about Gods love for us, and how we should love God back, and manifest such love by loving our fellowmen. On my own, I followed Bro. Bos advise by serving in charitable institutions ministering to the poorest of the poor. I started a tradition of talks to the graduating class of the Sisters of Mary School Girlstown in Silang, Cavite, quoting tips from Bro. Bo. I invited the students to listen to the radio programs of Bro. Bo and be inspired, just like Ive been moved to put my faith in action. I must admit that even as I heard about the Feast in the program, it took me a long time before attending the Sunday prayer gathering. One time, I did attend in Feast PICC, and as I listened to the talk, something like this was written in my heart: Gods call is everywhere, and God uses each person, thing, or situation to call us to work for His Home. Last year, I attended the Kerygma Conference because my cousin gave me a ticket. I shared what I learned at the KCON with some friends, and funny, they started attending the Feast regularly-- well ahead of me. Then one day, burdened with some problems, I attended the Feast in Pasig. It was there that I resolved to go to a Feast regularly. Recently, I also attended the Feast PICC third session led by Bro. Alvin Barcelona. At the time, the speaker was Sis. Rissa, and, again, the word of God as she preached it, pierced my heart, and opened my eyes to Gods everlasting love for me. Now I am attending the Feast regularly-- for here, I have found myself a home. Editors Note: Have you a similar story on how you found God through the Feast? Share! and let the world know miracles still do happen today to give hope especially to the lost. For details, email feasteditor@gmail.com, or call 09399044065.

ONE MORE MIRACLE

At the KCON, the Lame Walked!
MY husband Ed and I have been covering the annual Kerygma Conference for The Feast, witnessing amazing miracles. For instance, on the last day of Kerygma Conference 2008, we were already exhausted covering the threeday conference, so we sat down after the Mass, thinking there was no more event worth covering because the KCON was about to wrap up already. Then, it happened. Renowned healer Bob Canton started the healing session. He prayed over a woman on a wheel chair, and as he did, the woman stood up, moved one foot forward, then the other foot, and then Shes walking! Shes walking! I shrieked as Ed promptly jumped off his seat and went on clicking and clicking his camera, as the woman walked and walked, grinning from ear to ear, as the crowd applauded. --Chay Santiago
