Is the paper an example of disciplined research? Yes, it is a disciplined research because their experiences with post-traumatic stress disorder after childbirth were analyzed using Colaizzis method of data analysis. 2. Is it a qualitative or quantitative study? It is a qualitative study because it is based on subjective cues and is based on human experiences. 3. What is the underlying paradigm of the study? It is a naturalistic study because it focuses on human experience and the goal of the research is to understand how individuals construct reality within their context. 4. Does the study involve the collection of empirical evidence? No, it doesnt involve empirical evidence because in empirical based evidence, it focuses more on objective data. 5. Is the purpose of the study identification, description, exploration, explanation and/or prediction and control? The purposes of the study are identification, description, exploration and explanation. 6. Is the study applied or basic? It is an applied research because it finds a solution to an immediate practical problem. 7. Does the study address an EBP-focused question, such as about treatment, diagnosis, prognosis, etc? Yes, the study addresses EBP-focused question. 8. How relevant is the study to the actual practice of nursing? This glimpse into the lives of mothers with post-traumatic stress disorder attributable to childbirth provides a description on the essence of mothers experiences of post-traumatic stress disorder after childbirth and to provide an impetus to resolve this problem.
