Although the sport started growing in BiH rivers (Una, Vrbas, Drina, Tara, Neretva...) some 15 years ago, rafting has a long tradition the country. For example, the first Rafting Regatta on the Una was held in August 1964, with more than 80 participants from France, then Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Western Germany and Yugoslavia. Cycling Bosnia and Herzegovina

Thanks to its excellent mountain biking tracks, Bosnia and Herzegovina made it into National Geographic magazines Top 10 adventure destinations for 2012. In the past, cycling was mostly a matter of riding on asphalt roads. However, the appearance of first models of mountain bikes opened a whole new world for enjoyment of two-wheel riding - in the nature, on dirt mountain roads, or even where no trails exist at all. The Mountain Biking Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MTBA) is closely tied with the www.mtb.ba web portal that offers information on mountain biking in BiH, available trails, etc. Should you choose a cycling adventure in Bosnian and Herzegovinian mountains, our advise is to contact MTBA and download their Guide to Mountain Biking in BiH. The trails are covered in a clear and straightforward way. The distances are accurately measured using GPS, and there are photos of all important crossroads with instructions which turn to take. If you follow the map, the ride along trails on offer should be a simple and pleasant experience.

Paragliding in Bosnia Herzegovina

Paragliding is an extreme sport that first appeared in France in late 1970s and early 1980s, with mountaineers and alpinists seeking the simplest and easiest way to descend back to the valleys after difficult climbs. Paragliding is one of the youngest aviation sports and possibly the easiest and simplest way to achieve the dream of human flight. The sport has been developing and spreading rapidly over the past 15 years and gains prominence in sports aviation. The main reason for its growth lies in the fact that it is not financially demanding activity. It is easy to achieve individual flight, but there are also great risks involved. Flying without quality theoretical preparation and practical training, under close control by competent instructor, is an opportunity for accident. Due to slow flying speeds, any change of windspeed or turbulence could threaten the safety of the flier. For that reason, only long-term systematic training is the proper way to get to experience the joys of paragliding.
