Athletics Term Three Lower Primary Athletics Carnival Thursday 2 August What a fantastic day the Lower Primary Athletics Carnival turned out to be! The day started with the March Past, followed by our Kindy children contesting sprints, at record speeds. They were awarded for their stellar performances and it was absolutely fantastic to see how much fun they were all having. The Kindy students then went to observe the sporting prowess of our Junior School Athletes. On speaking with the hosts of each event, we have very promising days to look forward to in this arena. The children tested their abilities in Sprinting, High Jump, Bean Bag Tossing and Long Jump, with some fantastic jumps in excess of 2.5 metres! It was wonderful to see so many parents support the day and it was because of that support, that there were a million smiles on the day. rd Inter House Athletics Carnival Friday, 3 August We couldnt have asked for a better day for our Upper School Athletics Carnival, with a sunny day and a tail breeze to push our sprinters home. The first event completed was the 800m, and was a test of endurance with many a runner starting the race with ambitious amounts of speed. The fields were huge and congratulations go to all of the runners for pushing beyond their comfort zones and proving to themselves that they could make it. From running, to jumping, to snow cones, to throwing every skill was tested. There were too many personal bests to mention, but it wasnt for lack of trying on Mr Gregorys part. Thank-you to everyone for making this day a success, the P&F Committee for feeding the crowds, the Staff and Volunteers for assisting with the logistics and the many Parents that cheered on the stars of the day, our very talented children. The feedback that we have received has been most overwhelming, and we are so glad that everyone had a fantastic day.
