ADVICE ON THE USE OF MICHELIN EARTHMOVER TYRES
IMPORTANCE OF THE TYRE
TYRES ARE THE ONLY CONTACT BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. IT IS THEREFORE VITAL TO HAVE THE CORRECT TYRE AND TO KEEP IT IN GOOD CONDITION.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN FITTING OR REMOVING TYRES IN TWINS

Safety Warning In order to minimise the risk of accidents,
Always follow the recommended tting and untting procedures for pneumatic tyres. Only specially trained and authorised personnel should t or remove earthmover tyres. - The inner and the outer tyres of a twin tment must always be deated before removing any rim xture from the hub of the vehicle. - Never attempt to repair a damaged wheel by brazing, soldering or welding with the tyre still tted to the wheel even if deated. Do not apply heat to the wheel or rim when the tyre is still tted. - If working near overhead electric lines, make sure that the highest point on the vehicle or on the load is at a safe distance from the lines. Never exceed the ination pressure for the wheel. (This may be lower than that for the tyre.) Always ensure that the tyre is well positioned and seated on the rim before ination to protect the tyre and tter. Please consult Michelin technical documentation for advice on ination pressures and safety guidelines. Maintain the recommended ination pressure for the application: Under ination or over ination can be dangerous for the tyre tter and machine operator, and can cause irreparable damage to the tyre (rapid and irregular wear, excess temperatures, poor handling, etc.) Ensure that the tyre is operated within its design parameters: Overload or use at excessive speed will ultimately affect a tyres performance. We strongly advise against: - dual mounting of Michelin radial tyres with diagonal ply (bias) tyres. - dual mounting of a tyre of normal tread depth with a deep treaded tyre. - dual mounting of tyres of the same type which have different degrees of wear. (a 10% difference in tread depth can be tolerated). If in any doubt, please consult Michelin documents on FITTING AND REMOVING OF EARTHMOVER TYRES.

HANDLING
Poor handling of an untted tyre can cause it to be irreparably damaged. In order to eliminate the risk of bead damage and the problems which could result, we strongly advise that: 1 - The tyre is not lifted directly on the bead with a crane hook. 2 - Flat straps be used (not steel slings or chains). 3 - The tyre be lifted under the tread and not on the beads when a fork lift truck is used. 4 - For all tubeless tyres supplied with bead protectors, the protector should be left in place until the tyre is about to be tted. (keep the protectors; they can be retted when the tyre is temporarily removed for repair or retreading).

STORAGE
In order to avoid premature ageing and damage to tyres, they store them in a cool dry place indoors and away from direct sunlight. If this cannot be done, the tyres must be protected from: 1 - Ozone sources (sun, arc-welders, mercury vapour light bulbs, etc). 2 - Ultra-violet rays. 3 - The weather - Tyres should be stored vertically on the roll, one against the other (avoid stacking). - Tubes, aps and sealing rings may be stocked in their original packing, or unwrapped, on clear racks, shelves or in containers, providing that the surfaces in contact with the rubber are smooth to avoid tears, cuts or perforations and free from chemicals which damage rubber.
