** Project Cost Estimate IF DIFFERENT from Adopted Budget: Scope: The Cushing Street Bridge has been named the "Luis G. Gutierrez Bridge at Cushing Street". The Cushing Street Bridge construction and roadway improvement project is a vital link in the 3.9-mile Modern Streetcar project. The 320-foot-long signature bridge will provide a shaded east-west connection for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders. When complete, the project improvements will include a new roadway and bridge, asphalt concrete pavement, curb, sidewalk, ramps, driveways, utility relocations and improvements, floodwalls, street lighting and other improvements along Cushing Street, between Avenida Del Convento and the eastbound I-10 frontage road. Please be aware that the budget and expenditures provided here are only for pre-construction design and miscellaneous costs. Construction budget and expenditures are included within the Modern Streetcar Project. Benefits: The extended widening of the I-10 underpass at Cushing, along with the Cushing Street Bridge, will serve as an important multi-modal gateway to downtown. Status: 08/08/2012 99 percent completed. Now working on punch list items. Next Steps: 08/08/2012 Final walkthru scheduled for August 10, 2012. Issues: 05/09/2012 None.

Scope: The project will be a modest, four-lane roadway north of the Union Pacific railroad tracks that will connect Barraza-Aviation Parkway to 22nd Street and I-10, offering an alternate access to Downtown, plus new underpass with the Union Pacific railroad. Benefits: The project will provide an additional transportation link to the existing arterial system that will allow alternate access and egress to Downtown Tucson. Additionally, the project removes an existing atgrade railroad crossing with the construction of a new underpass and provides safety improvement to three other crossings Status: 08/08/2012 St. Mary's segment went out to bid in early July. Bid openings on August 16th. Construction to start in mid September. 6th Street and Links Avenue plans at 30% and to begin design in late August. CAC meeting scheduled for August 20th. Next Steps: 07/09/2012 Design efforts begin in August and full design will take a minimum two years. Issues: 07/09/2012 None.

Benefits: This project brings new neighborhood approved development to the westside as a planned extension of Downtown. Status: 05/01/2012 Gadsden submitted initial ideas on a revised phasing plan in May. Next Steps: 05/01/2012 Continue discussion. Issues: 06/01/2011 Need to amend the Development Agreement (DA) to remove any ambiguities and to determine when credits that are authorized in the DA, are earned.

Plantings representing several eras of Tucson agriculture, from ancient to modern are planned. Rebuilt on its original site and located today in the heart of downtown Tucson, the Mission Garden will feature heirloom plants and living Timeline Gardens, interpreting 4000 years of Tucson agriculture. Benefits: The Friends of Tucson's Birthplace (FOTB), a non-profit organization, was granted a 5-Year Operating Agreement by Mayor and Council of the City of Tucson and the Pima County Board of Supervisors. The 5-Year agreement was approved by both bodies the week of December 5, 2011. The FOTB website is: http://www.tucsonsbirthplace.org/ Status: 08/01/2012 Work continues on 2nd ramada and storage room building; ramada posts and interior roof material being installed. Next Steps: 08/01/2012 Completion of ramada, planning for Phase 2 planting, including the Native Plant Demonstration Area, a portion of 'Timeline' Gardens, tree on the west side of the Garden wall, and trees inside south and east walls of the garden. A Plant Advisory Committee of archaeologists, horticulturists, and ethnobotanists have been reviewing the plant list. Work will begin in September. Issues: 08/01/2012 Drainage around the site is being reviewed.

** Project Cost Estimate IF DIFFERENT from Adopted Budget: Scope: A four-mile modern streetcar line that connects the University of Arizona to the 4th Avenue commercial district, downtown and the redevelopment area west of downtown. Revenue generating operations are scheduled to begin October 31, 2013. Benefits: The purpose of the Tucson Modern Streetcar Project is to address the need for improved connectivity between Tucson's major activity centers. The modern streetcar will serve as an urban transit circulator to address the transportation needs of the residents, workers, students, and visitors traveling in the corridor. The City of Tucson and other local decision-makers have been focused on addressing this need, as documented in previous transportation planning and development initiatives. More specifically, the proposed project is based on the need to connect major activity centers, create economic development, support population and employment growth, improve transit service, and mitigate parking constraints. Status: 08/08/2012 Line Segments 2, 3, 4, and the maintenance facility are under construction. The first segment of track and roadway, along 4th Avenue north of 6th Street, was re-opened to traffic last month. Weekly e-mail alerts (blasts) are sent out to project stakeholders and the general public advising of construction activities and traffic closures. The line segments are focusing on utility relocation, track installation, sidewalks and ramps, and traffic signals. Next Steps: 08/08/2012 Continue rail installation, begin pole installation, roadway paving, sidewalk reconstruction on Line Segments 2, 3 and 4. The maintenance facility building is being erected. Issues: 08/08/2012 The City of Tucson is securing funding to convert an option on our streetcar order, bringing the total ordered fleet to eight.

Benefits: Expedition Tanzania will be providing important improvements for the nationwide lephant program. Additionally, it will provide guests with a dynamic educational exhibit to explore and enjoy. The community has been extremely supportive, and should be very proud of this achievement. Status: 06/08/2012 Construction of base project is 100% complete. Installation of additional, owner-requested items is still in progress. Exhibit is open to the public.
