Twin Towers

Gleaming towers protect and propagate their ideals. They enforce the message and control wealth and power created on the backs of others. In a flash, malcontents from half a world away strike out. Angered by abuses heaped on their country men, driven by religious fervor and conviction that their morality is right; fearful of the society they dont understand, the small group expresses their range as best they can. The destruction is devastating. The casualties are colossal. A stunned civilization cant understand what drove this insane group of fringe fanatics to carry out such an abhorrent act of cruelty. Was it jealousy of wealth? Sexual repression? Could it have been that they simply dont like people who look different then themselves? In response a war is started. Not against the home country of the attackers but against a country they stayed in, one that is of little importance to the trade in resources. Unfortunately the attack has done little but increase hostilities. Removing a head from the hydra has left many other heads to emerge in its place, all smaller and more ferocious. The country is in chaos as a heavily armed population is given the freedom to express old grievances at gun point. Why did they do it? The Chinese knew the attackers were Canadian and Australian, why did they attack the United States? Wouldnt it have been easier to keep their differences in morality to themselves? Why did they insist on propagating their civilly advanced out look on humanity and the environment? Couldnt they have left the West to struggle towards their own conclusions on these matters? But the answer is already known. The West hates Chinese freedom, and thats why 42 cities lay in smoking ruins, peopled by the charred bodies of 24 601 000 dead. ************************ Conventional wisdom holds that the arrival of the Democrats has raised the risks for China, an idea [Treasury Secretary] Mr. [Hank] Paulson and his [strategic economic development] team are only to happy to propagate. There is some truth to it. Nancy Pelosi, the in coming speaker of the House of Representatives, is a staunch critic of Chinas human rights record as well as a trade skeptic. - Paulsons Party, The Economist, Dec 9 15, 2006. **************************
