Be careful not to damage the rear bumper and body paint finish. To prevent damage to the bumper, set it on a blanket or cardboard during the installation. The rear under spoiler cannot be installed on a vehicle equipped with accessory splash guards.

Open the trunk hatch. Remove the six self-tapping screws and two clips from the rear bumper.

Attach the template to the arched section of the rear bumper on the outer surface, and secure the template with strips of tape.
Align with the mark.

Mark the rear bumper with the cut line along the inner line of the template. Remove the template. Using a hacksaw, cut the rear bumper along the cut line you just made. Remove any burrs from the edges of the cut section.

Lower the rear bumper slightly to release the license plate from the two hooks and rotate the license plate up. With the help of an assistant, pull the rear bumper toward you, unplug the vehicle connector and remove the rear bumper. Do not damage the rear bumper or vehicle body when removing the rear bumper.

Inside the bumper, locate the 3 marks. Using a pushpin, pierce the upper marks (do not use the 3 lower marks). While wearing eye protection, drill the 3 marked points with a 5 mm bit, then with a 10 mm bit. Using a file, remove any burrs from the edges of the holes.

Position the rear under spoiler on the rear bumper and loosely install five stepped bolts and five flange nuts.

Position the rear bumper upside down. Using a pushpin, pierce the rear bumper at the five points shown. While wearing eye protection, drill the five marked points with a 5 mm bit, then with a 10 mm bit. Using a file, remove any burrs from the edges of the holes.

10. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the rear bumper (at two points) through the center of the bracket hole on the right and left sides of the rear under spoiler. 11. Remove the rear under spoiler from the rear bumper. 12. Using a pushpin, pierce at the two marks. While wearing eye protection, drill the two marked points with a 5 mm bit, then with a 10 mm bit. Using a file, remove any burrs from the edges around the holes.

13. Slide the three square bolts onto the rear under spoiler.
ADHESIVE BACKING Attach a piece of adhesive tape to the ends of the adhesive backing, fold the ends up and tape them to the front side.

15. Insert the four self-tapping screws (two on each end) in the holes, and hold them in place with adhesive tape.

14. Attach a piece of adhesive tape to the end of each adhesive backing on the inner side of the rear under spoiler. Fold the ends of the adhesive backings and temporarily tape them to the top surface of the rear under spoiler.

16. Position the rear under spoiler on the rear bumper while aligning the holes for the bolts and nuts. Install the five stepped bolts, two bolts, seven 6 mm flange nuts and three 4 mm flange nuts.

17. Remove the adhesive tape from the screws installed in step 15, and install the screws.

ADHESIVE BACKING Press firmly while removing the adhesive backings.

18. Securely reinstall the rear bumper with the six self-tapping screws and two clips. 19. Press the rear under spoiler against the rear bumper firmly while carefully removing the adhesive backings.

Give a copy of this page to your customer Before towing this vehicle, follow the instructions described in the vehicle Owners Manual. Before using the towing hook, make sure you remove both the rear bumper and rear under spoiler. Failure to follow this precaution can damage the rear bumper, rear under spoiler and vehicle. Your vehicle may look different from this illustration.
