For about a year I live near Zion Square in the center of Jerusalem. In the area there is
pedestrian traffic 24 hours a day. At least two night a week Thursday and Saturday heavy
traffic.
During daytime, there usually are 2-4 Anti-Terrorist Squad police in the area, but during
nighttime there is no visible police presence in place.
During the past year numerous cases of disorderly conduct, damage to property, violence and
even the murder of an Arab boy took place in the Square of immediately adjacent area.
Given the above, it is desirable to have police presence also during the nights.

We forwarded a request in the name of Member of Knesset [Hanin-jz] to the Minister of
Internal Security, and the Commander of the Jerusalem District to consider the deployment of
police force in Zion Square, and we are waiting for their response.

Tonight there are three Border Police female police in Zion Square, and they told me that
from now on, this is going to be a permanent arrangement on Thurday, Friday, Saturday
night.
I was surprised by the speed of the response
