AVAILABILITY CHECK

While creating sales order the system can confirm the materials by the required delivery date if they are available for all the necessary processing activity that takes place before delivery. For this we need to configure availability check in the SAP system. Types of availability checks:1. Check on the basis of ATP quantity 2. Check against planning 3. Check against product allocation The following SD specific control futures are to be maintained for configuring the availability check. To maintain Transport of requirement in Material sales:Gen/Plant

To maintain Availability check & Strategy group in Material MRP-3 view

Requirements class:- The requirements class specifies whether the availability check is carried out based on the ATP quantity and whether the transfer of requirements shall be taking place. To define the requirements class go to SPRO S & D Basic functionsavailability check and transfer of requirements availability check availability check with ATP logic or against planning define procedure by requirements class (OVZ0)

a. Note:- The requirement class is assigned to requirement Strategy group:- The allowed planning strategies (i.e., the main strategy and further possible strategies) are combined in a strategy group. Here we need to specify whether the material is produced against make to stock production (means based on stock at plant u will decide to production) or make to order production (means once your receive the order then only u will start production). The strategy group is specified in the Material Master on the view MRP310. MRP Group:-The MRP group allows the materials to be combined from the point of view of material requirements planning. The MRP group in the combination of plant automatically determines a corresponding strategy group for the material type which is determined in to sales order for the items. This can be seen on the view procurement in order.

Checking group:The checking group controls whether the system is creating individual or collective requirements in sales and shipping process. A Material block for availability check with transfer of requirements can be set here. The checking group is also used to deactivate the availability check. To define this GOTO > SPRO S & D Basic functionsavailability check and transfer of requirements availability check availability check with ATP logic or against planning Define checking group

Note:- 1).The checking group is specify in the Material Master for the field Availability Check. 2). While creating the Material the system can automatically proposes a default Checking group. For this the following settings must be done. SPRO S & D Basic functionsavailability check and transfer of requirements availability check availability check with ATP logic or against planning Define checking group default value > goto New entries and assign the checking group to the combination of Materials type & Plant.

Checking Rule:- The checking rule specify the transaction in which the system has to carryout the availability . for creating this GOTO > SPRO > Material Management > Purchasing > Purchase order > Setup stock transfer order > create checking rule (in this available rule are predefined, so no need to create New entries just use existing rules).(A-Order; B-Delivery; AWConsignment order; BW- consignment delivery).

Scope of Check:- The checking group in the combination of checking rule determines the scope of check where we have to specify which stocks, inward Movement of material and outward Movement of materials shell be considered for calculating ATP quantity. For maintaining this GOTO SPRO S & D Basic functionsavailability check and transfer of requirements availability check availability check with ATP logic or against planning > carry out control for availability check
