ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS FOR AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATION WORK 1.

0 General Requirements
The installation shall generally be carried out in conformity with the requirements of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910 as amended upto date and the Indian Electricity Rules, l956 framed there under, the relevant regulations of the Electric Supply Authority concerned, and also with the specifications laid down in the Indian Standard I S 732-1963 Code of Practice (revised) for Electrical Wiring Installations (System voltage not exceeding 650 volts) and I S 2309-1969 Code of Practice for the protection of Buildings and Allied Structures against lightning. (The wiring shall also be according to the specifications of Local Authority and as per N E C). Electrical Installation work shall be carried out only by Contractor/Contractors holding valid contractors' licence issued by the concerned State Government as applicable to the voltage grade and nature of electrical installation work in accordance with Rule 45 of Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 with its latest amendments. The work shall also be carried out under the direct supervision of a person holding a certificate of competency and by a person holding Licence/Permit issued or recognised by the concerned State Government. These special conditions are meant to amplify relevant aspects of the General Conditions of Contract and shall be read in conjunction with General Conditions. In case of ambiguity between the two, the Special Conditions will prevail over general conditions. The Special Conditions also cover aspects on general scope, standards, supervision, testing, adjusting, balancing, guarantee and other norms as given below. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK The scope and general character of work governed by this document/contract is indicated in Drawings, Technical Specifications and Schedule of Items/Quantities. The contractor shall carry out design, testing at manufacturer's works, packing (Protected from weather) and transportation, supply, erection, final checkup, testings, final painting, commissioning at site and performance testing of the entire scope of works under this contract in every respect conforming to the contract documents and with the directions of and to the satisfaction of the Supervisor/Engineer. The contractor shall furnish all materials and equipment (except those Associated works to be supplied by the Owner/Purchaser) as intended in this specification document, drawings and/or schedule of quantities and specified otherwise of a complete air conditioning system. This also includes any materials, equipment, appliances and incidental work not specifically mentioned in the specification/drawings but which are in general, the work to be performed under this contract shall consist of supply and installation of the following : Air Cooled Ductable/Non-Ductable Split Air-conditioners upto 17 TR Packaged A.C Units Refrigerant piping with insulations Drain piping with insulation Sheet Metal Duct (Supply and Return Air for Dutable Units) Accoustic Insulation of supply air ducts Thermal Insulation of Ducts Supply Air & Return Air Grilles Electrical Panel, Local Switchboard with Switchgear Electrical Cabling and Earthing for the Units Control Wiring of Instrumentation and Systems M.S Hangers, Supports and Bases frames Vibration Isolators for all Equipment and System Controls, Instruments & Annunciatinon system

Measurement, Testing and Balancing All civil and electrical work associated to A.C work 3.0 ASSOCIATED WORKS Following works associated with HVAC installation are included in the scope of this contract. This shall be arranged by contractor through other agencies in accordance with approved Shop/ Working drawings of the HVAC contractor and under direct supervision of the HVAC Contractor. 3.1 Associated Civil Works a) b) All RCC/PCC foundations, M.S frames and grilles for indoor and outdoor A.C units of air conditioning system as required. Cutting/chipping of RCC and masonry wall/ceiling as required and mending good the damages and final finishing and painting to match with the existing finish of wall/ceiling surface. Breaking/making openings as required for the passage of supply air duct and passage for return air including mending good the damages and finishing & painting as necessary to the satisfaction of Owner.

Associated Electrical Works a) Providing mains power supply and earthing at the main incoming circuit breaker for air conditioning unit as well as the connection with the indoor and outdoor units to make the installation complete including providing necessary earthing connections of adequate ratings as per IE rules. Providing necessary power distribution board (TPN/SPN MCB DB) and wiring and earthing for the air conditioning unit including earthing as per I.E Rules between outdoor and indoor units.

Associated Plumbing Works a) Providing insulated copper refrigerant piping and drain pipes for the A.C Units as required and as per the direction of Owner. The HVAC Contractor shall be fully responsible for the adequacy and accuracy of all the above associated Works. He shall ensure that the above works are completed in good time to enable him to install his equipment and ancillary items in accordance with time schedule of the tender.

4.0

PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE The Contractor shall guarantee that the HVAC System as installed shall maintain the inside conditions in various spaces as described under 'Basis of Design' in the following specifications. The guarantee shall be submitted in the proforma indicated by Owner. It is to be clearly understood that the Specifications, Drawings, Schedule of Quantities and Refrigeration and Air conditioning design loads indicated in Specifications are for tenderers guidance only. The tenderer shall carry out his own comprehensive load calculations and provide all such equipment as required to achieve the specified inside conditions in all spaces. Tenderer shall fill in ink all items indicated in Schedule of Quantities along with tender.

A complete set of schematic drawings is available in the office of Owner & reference may be made to these drawings as required for load calculations or for other details. The contractor shall also guarantee that the performance of various equipments, individually shall not be less than the quoted capacity. Also actual power consumption shall not exceed the quoted rating. 5.0 i) By Laws and Regulations The installation shall be in conformity with the Bye-laws, Regulations and Standards of the local authorities concerned in so far as these become applicable to the installation. But if these Specifications and Drawings call for a higher standard of materials and/or workmanship than these required by any of the above Regulations and standards, then these Specifications and Drawings shall take precedence over the said Regulations and Standards. However, if the Drawings or Specifications require something which violate the Byelaws and Regulations, then the Bye-laws and Regulations shall govern the requirement of this installations. ii) Authorities, Notices & Patents a) The Contractor shall conform to the provisions of any Act of the Legislature relating to the Works, and to the regulations and bye-laws of any authority, and of any water, electric supply and other companies and/or authorities with whose systems the structure is proposed to be connected, and shall, before making any variations from the drawings of Specifications that may be necessitated by so conforming, give to the Consultant written notice, specifying the variations proposed to be made and the reason for making it and apply for instructions thereon. In case the contractor shall not within ten days receive such instructions he shall proceed with the work conforming to the provisions, regulations, or bye-laws in question, and any so variation to necessitated shall be dealt with under Clause of variation to contract. The Contractor shall bring to the attention of the Consultant all notices required by the said Acts regulations or bye laws to be given to any authority and pay to such authority, or to any public office all fees that may be properly chargeable in respect of the works and lodge the receipts with the Consultants. The Contractor shall indemnify the Employer against all claims in respect of patent rights and shall defend all actions arising from such claims and shall himself pay all royalities, licence fees, damages, costs and charges of all and every sort that may be legally incurred in respect thereof.

The contractor shall obey rules and regulations of relevant labour laws in force at the time of erection, testing and commissioning applicable for the place of work.

FEES AND PERMITS The Contractor shall obtain all permits/certificate licences and pay for any and all fees required for the inspection and commissioning of this work.

7.0

PRICE Rates quoted in the Schedule shall be inclusive of all freights, taxes, such as Octroi, Sales Tax, Royalties etc as well as transportation, so as to execute the contract as

per the Rules and Regulations of Local Bodies, State Government and Government of India. No variation in taxes and duties during the execution of the work is payable by any reasons. The prices quoted in the tender should include all charges for: a) b) Labour, maintenance, fixing, carrying, clearing, making good, hauling, watering etc. Plant, scaffolding, framework, ladders, ropes, nails, splices, tools, material and workmenlike protection from weather, shuttering, temporary supports, platform and maintenance of the same, welding machine gas and all such pertinent accessories. All temporary canvass, lights, tarpauline, barricades, etc. All such temporary fences, guards, approaches and roads as may be necessary for execution of the contract works and for safeguarding the public. Testing the installations. Necessary stoppers, screws, plugs, nose etc must be provided for. These shall be taken out and relaid at the contractor's expense. Suitable testing equipment required for the purpose shall be procured by contractor. Every pipe, device, valve and fittings used in hydro-mechanised system shall be capable of withstanding a pressure of 7 kg/sq.cm in excess of the pressure designed in the system but in no case less than 0.5 kg/sq.cm. Painting pipes, fittings and accessories with 2 coats of approved primer and three coats of paint of approved make and shade. Apportionments of cost for general facilities to be used by the Contractor's staff such as Lifts/Electricity/ Telephone etc during erection, due to general contractor or the Owner who arranges for such facilities in the first instance. Fees for testing the materials by appropriate authorities. All civil, mechanical and electrical work connected with installation of equipment piping etc. Numbering of installations as required by rules. Insurance as specified.

The rates quoted by the tenderer will be deemed to be for the finished work. 8.0 DRAWINGS The AC Drawings listed in with the tender are diagrammatic only and indicate arrangement of various systems and the extent of work covered in the Contract. The Drawings indicate the points of supply and of termination of services and broadly suggest the routes to be followed. Under no circumstances shall dimensions be scaled from Drawings. The Architectural drawings and details shall be examined for exact location of equipment, controls, grilles and diffusers.

The Contractor shall follow the tender drawings in preparation of his shop drawings and for subsequent installation work. He shall check the drawings of other trades to verify spaces in which his work will be installed. Maximum headroom and space conditions shall be maintained at all points, where headroom appears inadequate, the contractor shall notify the Architect/Consultant before proceeding with the installation. The Contractor shall examine all architectural, structural plumbing and electrical and other services, drawings, before starting the work and report to the Architect any discrepancies and obtain clarification. Any changes found essential to coordinate installation of this work with other services and trades, shall be made with prior approval of the Owner and without additional cost to the Owner. The data given in the Drawings and specifications is as exact as could be secured, but its accuracy is not guaranteed. 9.0 TECHNICAL DATA The tenderer must submit in the technical data for all items in the indicated format, and submit along with their tenders. Failure to furnish technical data with tenders, may result in summary rejection of tenders. 10.0 QUIET OPERATION AND VIBRATION ISOLATION All equipment shall operate under all conditions of load without any sound or vibration which is objectionable in the opinion of the Supervisor. In case of rotating machinery sound or vibration noticeable outside the room in which it is installed, or annoyingly noticeable inside its own room, shall be considered objectionable, such conditions shall be corrected by the Contractor at his own expense. 11.0 SHOP DRAWINGS a) Within four weeks after the award of the Contract, the contractor shall furnish three (3) sets of drawings, for the approval of the Architect/Consultant, two sets of detailed shop drawings of all equipment and materials including layout, ducting, piping and control wiring layouts, required to complete the project as per specifications and as required by the Owner. These Drawings shall contain details of construction, size, arrangement, operating clearances, performance characteristics and capacity of all items of equipment, also the details of all related items of work by other contractors. Each item of equipment proposed shall be a standard catalog product of an established manufacturer as per Specifications. When the Owner makes any amendments in the above drawings, the contractor shall supply four (4) fresh sets of drawings with the amendments duly incorporated, along with the drawings on which corrections were indicated, after final approval has been obtained from the Owner, the Contractor shall submit a further six sets of shop drawings for the Owners and other contracting agencies. No material or equipment may be delivered or installed at the job site until the Contractor has in his possession, the approved shop drawings for the particular material or equipment. b) The shop Drawings shall be submitted for approval sufficiently in advance of planned delivery and installation of any materials, to allow Owner ample time for scrutiny. No claims for extension of time shall be entertained because of any delay in the work due to his failure to produce shop drawings at the right time in accordance with the approved programme.

Samples, manufacturer's drawings, catalogues, pamphlets and other documents submitted for approval shall be in four sets. Each item in each set shall be properly labelled, indicating the specific services for which material or equipment is to be used, giving reference to the governing section and clause number and clearly identifying in ink the items and the operating characteristics. Data of general nature shall not be accepted. Approval of shop drawings shall not be considered as a guarantee of measurements or of building dimensions. Where drawings are approved, said approval does not mean that drawings have been checked in detail nor does it in any way relieve the Contractor of the responsibility or requirement to furnish material or perform work as required by the contract. Where the Contractor proposes to use an item of equipment, other than that specified or detailed on the Drawings, which requires any redesign of the structure, partitions, foundation, piping, wiring, or any other part of the mechanical, electrical or architectural layout, all such re-design, and all new drawings and detailing required therefore, shall be prepared by the contractor at his own expense and gotten approved by the Owner. Where the work of the Contractor has to be installed in close proximity to, or will interfere with work of other trades, he shall assist in working out space conditions to make a satisfactory adjustment. If so directed by the Owner, the Contractor shall prepare composite working drawings and sections as a suitable scale not less than 1:50, clearly showing how his work is to be installed in relation to the work of other trades. If the Contractor installs his work before coordinating with other trades, or so as to cause any interference with work of other trades, he shall make all the necessary changes without extra cost to the Owner. Within four weeks of approval of all the relevant shop drawings, the Contractor shall submit four copies of a comprehensive itemised price list of recommended (by manufacturers) imported and local spare parts and tools covering all equipment and materials in this contract. The Owner shall make arrangements to procure these spare parts and tools.

12.0

ACCESSIBILITY The Contractor shall verify and ascertain the sufficiency of the size of the shafts and openings, clearances in cavity walls and suspended ceilings for the proper installation of his ducting and piping. His failure to communicate insufficiency of any of the above shall constitute his acceptance of sufficiency of the same. The contractor shall locate all equipment which must be serviced, operated or maintained in fully accessible positions. The exact location and size of all access panels, required for each concealed control, damper valve or other devices requiring attendance, shall be finalized and communicated in sufficient time, to be provided in the normal course of work, failing this the Contractor shall make all the necessary repairs and changes at his own expenses.

13.0

SUPERVISION The contractor shall ensure a very high quality of workmanship. Adequate technical and general supervision shall be provided by contractor to ensure good workmanship and coordinated smooth erection. The level of supervision shall not be by less than a qualified and experienced supervisor posted at site throughout the period of erection, commissioning etc. The supervisor shall

be backed by a qualified and experienced engineer who along with the supervisor shall co-ordinate with the various agencies, site engineer and others. Constant and adequate supervision at site is a pre-requisite to this contract. Lack of supervision can result in purchaser/consultant invoking risk and purchase clause in order to ensure the desired result by the client. Purchaser reserve the right to ask for replacement of Contractor's staff, in case in their absolute opinion the Purchaser/Consultant feel that proper technical and/or general supervision is not provided by the contractor. 14.0 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION The electrical work related to air conditioning services, included : under installation of electrical services, shall be carried out in full knowledge of, and with the complete coordination of the Contractor. The electrical installation shall be in total conformity with the control wiring drawings prepared by the contractor and approved by the Owner. All air conditioning equipment shall be connected and tested in the presence of an authorised representative of the Contractor and Supervisor. The air conditioning system shall be commissioned only after the contractor has certified in writing that the electrical installation work for air conditioning services has been thoroughly checked, tested and found to be totally satisfactory and din full conformity with the Contract Drawings, Specifications and manufacturer's instructions. It is to be clearly understood that the final responsibility for the sufficiency, adequacy and conformity to the Contract requirements, of the electrical installation work for air conditioning services, lies solely with the Contractor. 15.0 PRE-COMMISSIONING TESTS, COMMISSIONING, TESTING AND ADJUSTING AND BALANCING Balancing of all air systems and all tests as called for in the specifications shall be carried out by the Contractor in accordance with the Specifications and relevant local codes, if any. The result for summer/winter air conditioning tests in quadruplicate shall be submitted for scrutiny. Four copies of the certified manufacturer's performance curves for each piece of equipment shall be submitted along with the test results. The contractor shall also provide four copies of record of all safety and automatic control settings for the entire installation. The contractor shall pay for and arrange, without any extra cost to the Owner, all necessary balancing and testing equipment, instruments, materials, accessories, refrigerant and the requisite labour. Any defects in materials and/or in workmanship detected in the course of testing shall be rectified by the contractor, entirely at his own cost, to the satisfaction of Supervisor. The installation shall be tested again after removal of defects and shall be commissioned only after approval by the Owner. All tests shall be carried out in the presence of the representative. 16.0 a) Contractor's Completion Certificate On completion of the installation, a certificate shall be furnished by the contractor, counter signed by the licensed supervisor, under whose direct supervision the installation was carried out. This certificate shall be in the prescribed form as required by the local authority.

The Contractor shall be responsible for getting the entire installation duly approved by the Authorities concerned and shall bear all expenses in connection with the same. b) Virtual Completion The plant will be considered virtually complete if all equipments and components are installed and the plant is ready to be commissioned. The installation and pre-commissioning tests and checks shall have been completed to the entire satisfaction of the Owner and all observed snags removal to the satisfaction of the Owner. The virtual completion status may be used by the Owner as a milestone date. Defect Liability Period shall commence from the date of handing over/taking over of the complete work by Owner on the basis of above. 17.0 COMPLETION DRAWINGS On completion of the work in all respects, the Contractor shall supply four (4) complete sets of Drawings, on approved scale, indicating the work as-installed. These drawings shall clearly indicate the complete plant room layouts, ducting and piping layouts, location, wiring and sequencing of automatic controls, location of all concealed piping, valves, controls, dampers, wiring and other services. The contractor shall also submit four (4) sets of consolidated control diagrams, technical literature on all equipment and materials. The contractor shall frame under glass, in the Air conditioning Plant Room all consolidated control diagrams. 18.0 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS a) Upon completion of all work and all tests, the contractor shall furnish necessary skilled labour and helpers for operating the entire installation for a period of fifteen (15) working days of eight (8) hours each, to enable the Owner's staff to get acquainted with the operation of the plant. During this period, the contractor shall train the Owner's representatives in the operation, adjustments and maintenance of all equipment installed. The contractor shall submit a draft copy of comprehensive operating instructions and maintenance schedule for all systems and equipment included in this contract. This shall be supplementary to manufacturer's operating and maintenance manuals. Upon approval of the draft, the contractor shall submit four (4) complete bound sets of typewritten operating instructions, maintenance schedules, log books.

Test results & certificates. Log Book format.

19.0

MAINTENANCE DURING DEFECTS LIABILITY PERIOD a) Complaints The contractor shall receive calls for any and all problems experienced ion the operation of the system under this contract attend to these within 24 hours of receiving the complaints and shall take steps to immediately correct any deficiencies that may exist. b) Repairs All equipment that require repairing shall be immediately serviced and repaired. Since the period of Mechanical Maintenance runs for one year concurrently with the defects liability period all replacement parts and labours shall be furnished at no extra cost to the Owner. c) Log Book The contractor shall provide four (4) copies of bound printed comprehensive log book containing tables for daily record of all temperature pressures, humidity, power consumption, starting and stopping times for various equipment, and record of unusual observations. This log book shall contain pages for one year's records of above observations.

20.0

SAFETY The Contractor shall fulfill all safety requirements at project site. The safety precautions shall meet all applicable laws, regulations, local rules as applicable at the time of project execution. The safety precaution shall safeguard contractor's owner personnel. Contractor shall not use such methods or implements which interferes with the safety of other personnel. Tools, tackles, scaffolds etc used by the contractor shall comply to any statutory requirement in respect of such items. Protective clothings, devices shall be used as per the standards and norms.

21.0

CODES AND STANDARDS Design, manufacture, inspection and testing of equipments and materials covered by the specification shall, unless otherwise specified, conform to the latest edition of the standards and code including all amendments.

22.0

MATERIALS All materials, fittings, appliances, used in electrical installations, shall conform to Indian Standard Specifications wherever these exist. A list of approved materials is attached afterwards. Materials not included in the list shall be got approved by Owner prior to actual use.

23.0

INSURANCE
Contractors rates should include for necessary Insurance Policies on Companies approved by the Owner to cover all risks against theft, fire hazard, workmen compensation, injury to persons animals things etc during the progress of the work as detailed in Conditions of Contract and produce all such documents for Owners verification.

24.0

SITE CONDITION
The contractor should inspect the work site, where the works under this contract are to be carried out, and obtain for himself at his own responsibility all the information which may be necessary for the purpose of the successful execution of the contract He must also make himself conversant with all the local conditions, means of access to the site of work, nature, extent of transport facilities & character of the work and supply of materials, conditions affecting labour and other matters that may affect his tender. The work shall be carried out in coordination with the interior decoration work of the building using modular type furniture, partitions, false ceilings with recessed type wire ways, cabling and earthing arrangements and installation of modular type switches, socket outlets and other terminal outlets required for telephone (Internal & External), Computer terminals etc.

25.0

WORKING HOURS
Work shall be carried out at day time and during normal working hours of the IACS only and the work must be completed within the time specified in the tender documents. If found necessary to make up lost time, the work may be carried out at night if permitted by the Owner at no extra cost. However, at the instant of casting the slabs, contractor's supervisor should be present all the time irrespective of the hour of the day/night till the slab casting is over to see that conduit laid remain in position as desired and are not disturbed/shifted from their place.

26.0

CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE
Not withstanding whatever has been stated elsewhere the contractor will take action as follows : a) b) c) d) The agreement is to be executed as per tender terms within 30 days of the date of the work order. The initial formalities as per tender are to be completed within 30 days of the work order. Various insurance policies as per tender are to be effected within 30 days of the work order. Valid Labour licences are to be submitted before commencement of work.

The contractor is to note that in case he fails to attend to any of the above, the Owner may take action as per tender terms and the Owner will be within his rights to forfeit the EMD and cancel the work order.

27.0

CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE
The contractor will have to arrange for the work to be supervised by a whole time licensed Supervisor holding requisite part, who will be available at all reasonable hours at site to receive instructions from the Owner. The contractor shall provide and maintain proper shed/storage space for storage and protection of tools, materials etc and arrange for watchmen for protection of materials and executed work. The mistries and supervisors of the contractor shall always carry with them measuring tape (30 metres) one test lamp with leads and one neon tester and make available to the Owner all the measuring instrument and tools that are required for checking the work. The contractor shall keep one copy of all drawings and specifications of the work at the site in good order to be available to the Owner and its Architects and for their respective representatives for inspection or for such other purpose the Owner may require. The concealed conduits in slabs are to be firmly tied down using 22 gauge M.S. binding wire before casting of slabs. The conduits in wall chases are to be fixed using approved staples. The chasing of walls is to be done preferably using a cutting machine electrically operated. No bends will be used for the drops in slabs or beams but the pipe will be given the required bend/shape using bending machine at site, to suit the site conditions. The contractor shall maintain a Site Instruction Book wherein the directions or instructions given at site by the Owner will be recorded (except where such directions or instruction are given by separate letters) and he will carry out the directions/ instruction recorded in the Site Instruction Book and signed by the Owner/Site Engineer.

28.0

DEVIATIONS FROM SPECIFICATIONS & DRAWINGS


In the tendering stage, no deviations shall be permitted. During actual installation, the Owner or their authorised representative shall check progress and carryout inspection on work done as well as equipment brought to site. Any work/equipment found at variance from those specified, shall be rectified/replaced as to be instructed to the contractor. Any deviation permitted by the Owner during the course of work shall be written by the authorised representative, in Site Order Book to be maintained at site by the contractor.

29.0

PROCUREMENT OF STEEL
The Contractor will have to procure steel for his requirement on his own and in his own cost. No extra cost whatsoever shall be made to the contractor other than those specified in the schedule of work.

30.0

PROCUREMENT OF CEMENT
The Contractor will have to procure cement for his requirement on his own and in his own cost. No extra cost whatsoever shall be made to the contractor other than those specified in the tender schedule of work.

31.0

PROTECTION OF WORK AND PROPERTY


The contractor shall continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work from damage and shall protect the Owner's property from injury or loss arising in connection with this contract. He shall make good any such damage, injury or loss, except due to causes beyond the contractor's control, and not due to his fault or negligence. He shall take adequate care and steps for the protection of the adjacent property. The contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the safety and protection of his employees on the works and shall comply with all applicable provisions of Govt and Municipal safety laws and building codes to prevent accidents, or injury to persons or property on, about or adjacent to his premises where the works are being performed.

32.0

SCAFFOLDING
The contractor shall make his own arrangement for provisions of necessary scaffolding for the work and include the same in the rates quoted by them. No additional cost shall be payable other than specified in the specified tender schedule.

33.0

WIRES AND CABLES All wires and cables to be used in electrical wiring shall have ISI marking on it. If the suppliers indicate that ISI marking on wires/cables is not possible because of manufacturing process, the cables/wires shall be accepted with the submission of test certificate and copy of licence issued by B.I.S to the manufacturers.

CONDUITS
The conduits to be used in wiring shall conform to I.S 9537 (Part-II)-1981 or latest in all respects and shall have ISI marking on it.

ORDER OF PRECEDENCE IN CASE OF VARIANCE


If the stipulation of the various contract documents be at Variance in any respect one will override the other only (in so far as they are at variance) in the order of Precedence given below : i) ii) iii) iv) v) Notice Inviting Tender Schedule of Items Technical Specification Special Condition General Conditions of Contract.

DATE OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION


The date of commencement will be the date on which the contractor is instructed to take possession of site. The date of completion will be as per completion period indicated in the Summary of Schedule of Items or N.I.T or General Conditions of Contract.

CO-OPERATION/CO-ORDINATION
If due to negligence, non-cooperation, non coordination of the contractor executed work of other agency/contractor suffers damage, loss, etc, the damage, loss etc will be got

rectified by the Site Engineer and the cost will be recovered from the defaulting contractor. The decision of the Site Engineer/Owner in the matter will be final and binding on the contractor.

PAYMENT
Certificate of payment can not be issued until the initial tender formalities are observed by the Contractor. The Architect may in his discretion with the prior consent of the Owner allow interim payments in the Running Account Bills of the Contractor considering the progress of work at site. The above payments shall be subject to deduction of Retention Money.

TEST CERTIFICATE
The Electrical contractor shall have to furnish manufacturer's test certificates, if asked by the Owner, for particular material/materials brought at site for incorporation in work. LOCAL REGULATIONS ETC The contractor should ensure that all installations conform to Local/Statutory Regulations and requirements. In case of any deficiency/discrepancy or contradictions found in the Technical Specifications or Schedule of Items, these shall be immediately brought to the notice of the Owner and the same should be got modified before execution of the work.

HANDING OVER/TAKING OVER


The assets will be taken over from the contractor within about one month after the issue of completion certificate by the Owner. The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and its maintenance in all its aspect and respects until the installation is taken over by the Owner or his authorised representative. In case the handing over/taking over is delayed, extra financial implications for providing security etc by the contractor shall be considered separately on the merits of the case.

EXTENSION OF COMPLETION TIME


Whenever the contracted work is not likely to be completed within the contract period due to non availability of site clearance, suitable extension shall be prayed from the Owner well ahead on the prescribed proforma as per tender terms stated elsewhere.

DEDUCTION OF INCOME TAX


Deduction of Income Tax from the Contractor's bills shall made as laid down in Memo No. 275/19/72 ITO dated 29.5.72 of the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance), Government of India with its amendment, if any. Works contract tax as per the present provision shall be recovered from all payments. Revision of tax/duty structures or fresh imposition thereof shall be liable for deduction from the R A Bills or any amount due to the contractor.
