Maintenance experience has indicated the requirement
for these items, in addition to the formerly considered
equipment.
a. Center combined shops. All facilities
heretofore issued (-l.nd Quilt for a Service Group have been
pooled ._- vlarehouses and equipment -- into th e
combined shops koO\-;o as Service Centers. (2 per Wing).
b. Cen tral i zed power plan t bu i1 d-uE.' Po
plant a3semblies are built in a central combined shop for
the entire ",7ing. This requires approximately six large
(40 x 100) quonsets appropriately arranged.
Personnel are permanently attac:1ed from each Bomb
Group to augment the Service Center T 0 & E.
c .omb Group Seryicc Center sUb-shops. An
adequately large area (ramp or combined hardstands) is
needed for scheduled inspection and maintenance. Tv/elve
(1::::) quonsets are furnished for this sub-shop.
d. Maintenance hut for each hardstand. A small
(10 x 12) hut of simple design for removed items, indivi-
dual tool kits, and personal equipment storage, by each
airplane

s hardstand is most desirable. This can be built
of dunnage or tentage.
e. 9FC harmonizing areas. Areas having airplane
leveling facilities and suitable sighting targets are re-
quired, one (1) per group. These should be free of all
obstructions to vision for the rec:uircd distances. Mainte-
nance stands or parking areas are not sui table .
f. Weighing and retraction test facilities.
Special additional hardstands with windbreaks equipped
for weighing, leveling, and jacking, arc required f or those

1. Power Equipment: The power unit:s furnished thi:s COIImlnd are not
durable enough to withstand the constant use necessary tar efficient
