1) WHAT CAREER ARE YOU STUDYING? Civil Engineering 2) EXPLAIN THE PROFILE THAT MUST HAVE THE PROFESSIONAL WHO HOLDS THIS CAREER? Civil engineers work for on construction, renovation and rebuilding projects. They often work alongside architects, technologists and other industry professionals. Engineers may alternate time between working in an office and visiting sites. Duties may range from reviewing government regulations and city ordinances to designing highways. 3) HOW IMPORTANT IS TO KNOW TECHNICAL ENGLISH IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AREA? Why many of the manuals, standards (ASTM, ACI, AASTHO), programs are most of them are in English, from there I see the importance of English in my career 4) MAKE A LIST WITH AT LEAST 15 TECHNICAL TERMS USING IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AREA AND DESCRIBE EACH OF THEM. 1) building a relatively permanent enclosed construction over a plot of land, having a roof and usually windows and often more than one level, used for any of a wide variety of activities, as living, entertaining, or manufacturing. 2) ASCE Standards provide technical guidelines for promoting safety, reliability, productivity and efficiency across all areas of civil engineering.
