In July, Strickland had an opportunity to vote on the Homeowners Bill of Rights, which established consumer protections to help keep foreclosure victims in their homes. In the seven days leading up to the vote, Strickland took $26,750 in campaign contributions from the financial industry, which staunchly opposed the bill. Strickland received nearly $56,000 from the financial industry in the second quarter alone. Strickland Sided with Banking Industry and Voted Against Homeowners Bill Of Rights In 2012, Strickland voted against the Homeowners Bill of Rights, which was hailed as the nation's most comprehensive push to strengthen homeowner rights since the housing meltdown.
