Description

18 Hours

This module assists students to understand the characteristics of todays families in terms of structure, function, roles, lifestyles and relationships. An understanding of inuence of cultural values, practices, religious beliefs as well as the effects of illness, stress, disability on family relationships will be emphasized as central to the PSWs ability to provide effective support. This module also explored the PSWs role in providing respite care and assisting families/signicant others and their children, including those with special needs.
