How to Convert a Decimal to a Fraction

How to Convert a Decimal to a Fraction As we know that in mathematics we learn many terms but here we are going to study about fraction and decimal. Now the in mathematics fraction means the number are in this form s/t and decimal means that the n umber are in this form p.xyz. Now the meaning of fraction is any number in this pattern s/t are called fraction and fraction are of three types proper fraction, improper fraction and mixed fraction. In fraction the s part is called numerator and t part is called denominator. Proper fraction means in any fraction numerator is lesser than denominator. Examples are 2/4, 14/28 etc. Improper fraction means that in any fraction denominator is lesser than numerator. Examples are 12/4, 34/2 etc. Mixed fractions are those which contain fraction part as well as whole number part. Examples are 2(2/4), 5(6/8) etc.

Now the meaning of decimals are to get the result in more simplified form are called decimal. Now suppose we have a fraction number and if we want to get the result in more simplify form then we divide numerator by denominator and the result we get are some time are whole number or some time in decimal form. Decimal numbers are of three types 1. Exact. 2. Recurring. 3. Others. Now exact decimal means after dividing we get the result which is no go on and on are called exact decimal number for example 0.123. Now the meaning of recurring is the result we get after decimal go on and on and also some of digits are repeated for example 0. 12323232323. In the last other decimal number means that which go on and on and also no digits are repeating for example 0.12342567465. Now we are going to show How to Convert a Decimal to a Fraction. So there are few steps which we have to follow while convert decimal to fraction. Step1 - in this step put 1 in the denominator of decimal like decimal/1. Step2 in this step we are going to multiply both numerator and denominator but by which number we are going to divide so we see that if only one digit after decimal then by 10 if two digit after decimal then 100 and so on. Step3 now we are going to simplify the fraction and we get the result. Lets take an example to understand conversion of decimal to fraction more clearly. Suppose we have a decimal number that is 0.125 Now according to first step 0.125/1 Now we are going to multiply numerator and denominator by 1000 as there are 3 digits after decimal so according to second step 0.125 1000/1 1000 = 125/1000 Then we are going to simplify this 125/1000 = 25/200 = 5/40 So by this way we convert decimal number to fraction. Again take another example so the decimal number is 0.300 Step1 - 0.300/1 Step2 0.300 1000/1 1000 Step3 300/1000 Now simplify this 300/1000 = 3/ 10 This is the final result of conversion of a decimal to a fraction.
