Rounding to the Nearest Tenth

Rounding to the Nearest Tenth Rounding is the concept of makes the calculations easy as well as understanding is better for calculations . Rounding numbers not gives the values that is equal actual one but it will provide the approximate value of the actual value that helps the student for faster calculations and also provide the efficiency . Rounding to the nearest Tenth is the concept that is applied with the decimal numbers that are used for rounding the number just after one place after the decimal means place after the one digit of decimal is hundredth or thousandth place if the value of these places are 49 or less than 49 then the place after the decimal means tenth place will become unchanged and all the digits after one place of decimal will be discarded as we take some examples of rounding decimal number to the nearest tenth place as follows : Example (1): If there is a decimal number .546 then find rounded number to the nearest tenth place? Answer: .546 is rounded off to the nearest tenth place by follow the rules as one digit after the decimal place will change if the digits after it are 50 or greater than 50 or remain unchanged if Know More About :- Uniform Circular Motion Math.Tutorvista.com

it is 49 or less than 49 so the digits are 46 after the .5 that is less than 50 so it will unchanged and the rounded value is .5 (answer) . Example (2): if there is a decimal number .877 then rounds the number to the nearest tenth place? Answer: .877 is rounded off to the nearest tenth place by follow the rules as one digit after the decimal place will change if the digits after it are 50 or greater than 50 or remain unchanged if it is 49 or less than 49 so the digits after .8 are 77 that is greater than 50 so add the one to the tenth place after the decimal then it will changed and the rounded value is .9 (answer). Example (3): If we take some more examples as a decimal value .967 then for rounding this decimal value we use the rules of rounding numbers as after one digit of decimal values remaining digits are greater than 50 that are 67 so we will add one into the tenth place digit that is just after the decimal means add one to .9 that is written as .9 + .1 that gives the answer 1.0. So rounding number is not gives the exact answer but it will as close as the actual answer. It helps in making the calculations more easy and fast that is not I the situation of actual numbers . Sometimes it is very difficult to handle the decimal numbers in the complex calculations because these calculations becomes very difficult by these decimal numbers that have the 6 , 7 or more then digits after the decimal .So by rounding these such numbers to the tenth or hundredth place these calculations becomes very easy to calculate. We take an example as if we want to multiply the decimal numbers as .99999 * 1.9999 =? Answer : By looking such type of calculation it looks very complex task but it will become very easy by rounding these numbers to the tenth place as . Learn More :- How to Calculate Speed

99999 will rounded off to the tenth place as 1.0 and 1.9999 will become 2.0 so the answer of 1.0 * 2 . 0 = 2.00 (answer) that is very much easier then the multiplication of .99999 * 1.9999. Question 1: Round the number 546 to nearest 10 Solution :The given number is 546 The number is ten places is 4and the number one place is 6 Since number one place is 6 we make it zero So the number 546 grounded to nearest 10 becomes 550.
