Got Trees! School Grounds Beautification

In case you havent noticed, we've got new trees and bushes!! The new trees arrived on September 14! A HUGE thank you to Mr. Matijevic for getting this donation for our school. The trees and bushes look absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much Mike!! Also a big thank you to the families that helped with the school grounds beautification project in late July. We had a many hands helping on Saturday, July 28. Several families who could not help on that particular day, worked very hard in the evening the week prior. Both Saturday and the evenings were very hot weather! The project included removal of the old school sign, removal of dated/dead bushes, weeding, planting of new perennials, removal of a tree, trimming, mulching, etc. It was a lot of work and we realize your time is precious, thank you to all who joined in to help. Hopefully you spotted our volunteers on the website!! Also, thank you to Mr. Regan for power washing and painting railings, what a difference, thanks Dave! Another thank you to Carol Wilson from the parish office for her gardening expertise and all the time she devoted to us. And as always thank you to Kathy Rinella and Kathy McGarvey for their continued help. The Mepham family donated a ton of time and worked on beds near the office entrance...they look great, thanks so much Mephams!! Lastly, thanks to our generous local businesses for their donations: Knuppers Nursery, Ace Hardware, Home Depot and the Village of Palatine for the free mulch (also thanks to M&B Landscaping for bringing the mulch over!) Thank you to the following families who helped on the beautification of our school: Fisher Flis Hake Hardy Jordan Katalinich Loftus Matijevic Mepham McGarvey Murphy Nicholas Pribilski ~Your School Board Quinn Rady Regan Rinella Salcedo Sanchez Sardina Skoczen Soulje Turnbull

Athletics
Cross Country
The Cross Country Team ran at its third meet on September 17th at the Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda. The JV girls finished third out of seven teams. Anne Marie Jordan (2nd place) and Gretchen Fisher (7th place) were the top runners for the JV teams. Unfortunately, the Varsity teams did not run due to lightning. Our next meet is September 24th at Melas Park in Mt. Prospect. We then have Conference Finals on October 1st at Busse Woods. Come and cheer on our runners!
