Jennifer Klaus, Associate Specialist and Head of Sale, comments: The sale of American Art attracted collectors of all levels, who were eager to bid on American works of art spanning a variety of genres, including Impressionism, Modernism, Illustrations, and sculpture. Keeping His Course and Study for The Runaway by Norman Rockwell were the top lots of the sale, selling well-above their high estimates and underscoring the artists continued reputation as one of the most prominent American illustrators. Western paintings also did particularly well, with Edgar Alwin Paynes La Marque Lake, High Sierra selling for $80,500, doubling its pre-sale estimate. We look forward to our next sale of American Art on November 28th. Press Contact Jaime Bernice, 212 636 2680, jbernice@christies.com Date and Location of Next Sale 28 November 2012, New York
