Maths Shortcut Quick Multiplication Multiplication of numbers whose unit digits add up to 10 and remaining number(s) is same.

Eg:42 x 48= 4(4+1) / 8x2 = 4x5 / 16 = 2016 Similarly, 114x 116 = 11(11+1) / 6x4 = 13224 Multiplication of numbers near to 100 Eg:108 x 109 = 108+9 / 9x8 = 11772 102 x 112 = 102+12 / 2x12 = 11424 To multiply any number by 5 we can multiply it by 10 which requires adding zero to it at the end and then divide it by 2 Eg. 423 x 5= 4230 / 2 Similarly, For 25 ; Number x 100 / 4 For 45 ; Number x 90 / 2 For 75 ; Number x 300 / 4 For 225 ; Number x 900 / 4 For 275 ; Number x 1100 / 4 For 125 ; Number x 500 / 4 To Multiply by 11, Eg 2345 x 11 Write unit digit of the number to be multiplied at the Extreme left = * * * * 5 Then add 5 + 4 (unit + tenth digit) and put it as * * * 95 Then add 4 + 3 (tenth + hundredth digit) and put it as * * 795 Add 2 + 3 (thousandth + hundredth digit) and put it as * 5795 Now put the 2 (ten thousandth digit as it is 25795 Similarly 15674 x 11 = 1 / 1+5+1(carried over) / 6+7+1(carried over) / 7+4 / 4
Example 1 : Finding Square of a number ending with 5 To find the square of 75 Do the following Multiply 5 by 5 and put 25 as your right part of answer. Multiply 7 with the next higher digit ie (7+1)=8 gives 56 as the left part of the answer, Answer is 5625 Let me explain this rule by taking examples consider number 34568276, we have to calculate the reminder on diving this number by 27 and 37 respectively.
