Orientation (5 minutes)

Introduction

1. Teacher shows slide presentation about different building in the world. - Eiffel Tower - Burj Khalifa Tower - Petronas Twin Tower 2. Teacher ask pupils some questions: - What are the characteristics of that three building? 3. Teacher relates students answer with the todays topic. 4. Teacher introduces the topic.

Eliciting of ideas (15 minutes)

Identify shapes of objects that are stable

Identify the factors that affect the stability of objects.

1. A few pupils will be chosen to help teacher in the next activities. 2. Teacher carry out activities of: - Waver block of pyramid, cylinder and cube shapes - Waver a bottle standing upright and a bottle standing upside down. - Waver two bottles of different height. 3. Teacher ask pupils a few questions: - Which of the object will fall down first? - Why the objects fall? - Which of the object will be the last one that falling down? - Why?

Teaching aids: - Block of pyramid, cylinder, cube shapes - Bottles SPS: TS: Generating idea relating Observing

Restructuring of ideas (15 minutes)

Identify the factors that affect stability of objects.

1. Teacher distributes some materials, instruction card and task sheet to each group. 2. Pupils will carry out activities to investigate the factors that affect the stability of objects. 3. Each group will read the instruction card and follow the instruction to carry out the activities. 4. After that, pupils will complete the task sheet given. 5. Teacher discuss about their findings. 6. Teacher distributes notes to each pupil. 7. Teacher explains about the topic by using slide presentation.

Application of idea (20 minutes)

Identify shapes of object that are stable

Identify the factors that affect stability of objects.

1. Teacher distribute some of materials which are: Teaching aids: - Plastisine - Plastisine - Cardboard - Cardboard 2. They need to discuss and design most suitable shape of object due to the SPS: factors that affect the stability of object. - Communicating 3. Teacher will test the object by putting TS: relating and generating idea all of them on the cardboard and waver the cardboard until one of the object fall down. 4. Teacher will discuss their findings. 5. Teacher distributes worksheet to each pupil.

Reflection (5 minutes)

Conclusion

1. Teacher close the lesson by showing the video of earthquake. Teaching aids: 2.
