GENERAL ELECTION VOTING INFORMATION FOR SOLDIERS, FAMILY MEMBERS, DA CIVILIANS, AND CONTRACTORS

General Election: November 6, 2012


All Registrations must be postmarked by October 22, 2012 (some states offer online registration) Simply go to http://www.fvap.gov/map.html click on your state of residence for information on how to register to vote. All Ballots must be requested NLT October 30, 2012 All vote by mail voters should send in voted ballots by October 29,2012. Voted ballots must be received by the local election office by 8 pm PST on November 6th, 2012. Postmarks do not count. All polling sites are open on Election Day, 6 November 2012, from 7:00AM to 8:00PM. For a list of polling sites in San Bernardino County, California, please go to: http://cms.sbcounty.gov/Portals/9/Elections/Polling_Place_locations.pdf If you are a California registered voter, you can: 1.Vote by mail, 2. Vote at your assigned polling place, every voter is assigned to vote at a specific polling place, which is determined by where the voter is registered. 3. Beginning October 9th, from 0800-1700hrs and on Saturday November 3rd, 0800-1700hrs you can physically go to the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, address is below, to place your vote. Rialto Avenue San Bernardino, CA 92451-6770 If you are a registered voter of another state you will be a Vote by Mail voter, simply go to http://www.fvap.gov/map.html click on your state of residence for information on how to request an absentee ballot and vote by mail information. If you do not receive your State absentee ballot by October 2, 2012, use the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot. If you receive your State absentee ballot, vote and return it. If both ballots are received by the deadline, only the State ballot will be counted. If you are a Family Member of a Soldier and you are having challenges with your proof of residency in another state or if you want to register as a California voter, you can register to vote and request your ballot as a California resident online by using your California ID or California Drivers License if you have one. Simply go to www.fvap.gov and follow the steps. If your voter registration address is Fort Irwin, this is a vote by mail jurisdiction. You will not have an assigned polling site.
