Job Purpose: (Main purpose of the role- Why does the job exist?) The team member has a responsibility to actively contribute to the company's aims and objectives, and the principles of Caterpillar Production System (People, Quality, Velocity and Cost). An Assembly Team Member will be responsible for contributing to the assembly of an engine to the correct specification. Main Duties & Responsibilities: (Key Outputs of Job Role) An Assembly Team Members key duties and responsibilities are centred around the principles of Caterpillar Production System (People, Quality, Velocity and Cost. A Rate B Team Member is expected to adhere to all standard working procedures as detailed in the Rate C and D Team Member job descriptions and may be required to perform any job function from these job descriptions. People Employees must conduct themselves within Perkins Values and Behaviours at all times Ability to train others against standard work using safe working methods Carry out induction/on the job training for new employees Role model for operators, demonstrating and leading in Perkins values and behaviours Trained to NVQ level 2 or equivalent Can help and train others on all stations in area. Can operate all stations in area Stands in for Team Lead if necessary. CPS Green belt

Quality Responsible for ensuring all products are made and maintained to specification and comply with company quality standards. Major rectification in or out of process (floor- rework loop) as appropriate Able to analyse and rectify specific engine issues Able to inspect and correct others work Actively works to deliver MQ12005. Understands issues on CPS Action Plans and may be actioned to achieve simple tasks. Understands content of Cell Boards and can act on information. Ideas are usually focussed on key performance and safety metrics

Velocity

Participate to ensure continuous improvement within the companys manufacturing processes Flexibility to support operations Work to FIFO (first in first out) principles in support of CSD Able to identify issues impacting velocity and make improvement ideas Actively Chases waste Completes an RIW once per year

Cost Support the effective control of resources within the value stream Raises ideas on how to save money.

Knowledge/Background/Experience Extensive knowledge of the product and processes are required. Incumbent is usually trained to a NVQ level 2 or equivalent
